Subj: Pictures of Musicks Miss Hot Ta Molly Deez

Hello Levin and Nancy and Merry Christmas to you. Just wanted to send a few pictures of Molly (Floyd x Xena pup) and let you know how she is doing. We absolutely love her. She is so smart. She has alot of energy, spunk, and good retrieving abilities with bumper and duck wings. She also speaks her mind out loud "ruff, ruff". We took he to vet a few weeks back, got her shots and she checked out great. Everyone just fell in love with her. She weighs 22 lbs now. Her and Thunder and Midnight have a ball playing together. She keep Thunder on his toes!! She is still terrorizing my cats in a playful manner though, but that will pass eventually. Molly was about 100 yards down by my chicken house the other day and I called her to me, I said Molly," here" and she came barrelling up the hill like a bandit right to me. We have been working on basic obedience, here, sit, down, and walking on leash and she is doing well. I am looking forward to some warmer weather so we can get outside more. The snow puts a damper on things.
What did you think of the big snow storm, it was a duzy. This was the biggest snow storm we have had in years, I guess we were due for one.
We just had to let you know how Molly Deez was doing and we are so happy and blessed to have her in our family. Again, thank you for breeding such a wonderful pup!!

    Hi Nancy,

Just wanted to send you a picture of Winnie (Floyd x Sugar) with the girls. She is doing really well. She's like an old soul in a puppy's body and we LOVE her! She's been sleeping through the night since 9 weeks and has mastered potty training and a few commands. She loves her new home and loves playing with her sister next door. That is a god send! Charley is working tirelessly to make her a hunting dog! Merry Christmas!

Subj: Sugar and Floyd males at four weeks of age

Hi Nancy,
It is hard to believe we have only had our new pup Diesel for only a few weeks. We are all very very attached to him. Aside from his obvious good looks, he has such an even temper that makes it so much fun being around him. I had a good feeling meeting Sugar that she was a little special, and can only imagine what Floyd is like. I'd like to meet him some day, and buy some peaches. I'll have Dianne send you some pictures.

Thanks again,
Mitch

Subj: Skippy K

Nancy and Levin,
Greetings and Happy Holidays! Again this year, Skippy K has been the most photographed member of our family. I am attaching one of our favorite pictures of her, taken when she was about 14 months old. She is resting from a swim and stick-and-ball retrieval in Assateague Bay, while on a camping trip to Ocean City, MD. Skippy was born to Sugar/ Floyd on May 8, 2008. I still remember waking up on Mother's Day, May 11, when she was 3 days old, and you had so thoughtfully sent us more photos of her with all her litter mates, and your message said "Happy Mother's Day!" She is maturing beautifully and is very affectionate and always adaptable to whatever is happening. We love her so much and we are proud of her when she walks with us around the campgrounds and everyone says how pretty she is and asks if they can pet her. Thanks again for giving her a great start! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Hi Nancy and Levin,
We've been meaning to send you a quick update on Buck (Floyd X Xena born 02-11-08). He's a wonderful dog and we couldn't be more thrilled with him! As you know, Jason has always wanted a well trained, competitive dog, and we have found just that in Buck! He was with a trainer in MD (Patty Jordan) from March through September prepping him for some derby action....so far he has 3 points, a RJAM, and 2 JAM's! We are thrilled! He is even traveling to Florida in January with Patty for another! Had we known he would do so well in the derby, maybe we wouldn't have gotten a February born pup, but we wouldn't trade him for the world! He is a delightful, energetic family pet, and our 2 boys love him to pieces! Somewhere down the road we will be looking to get another! Again, just wanted to update you and thank you for such a great pup! We think Buck has a very bright future ahead of him! And we were just looking at some pics of Floyd, can't believe how much he resembles his dad!

Dear Nancy,
Thank you for such a beautiful puppy. She is such a sweet sweet pup. I don't think my son has put her down for long and holds her till he gets to school every day. We all beg for a chance to hold her and she snuggles up to everybody. She is so affectionate. She has fit into our family perfectly and we are already so in love with her. I took her to the vet for a well check today and the vet and everyone in the office fell in love with her and commented on what a beautiful puppy she is! We are so thankful to Mr. Argabright for giving us your information. It is funny we got on the computer right away and my husband called you immediately and we saw your pups...brought one and here we are..in love for life!

Forever grateful!
God Bless!

Nancy,
Some files were too big to send all the pictures. Use what you want on the website.
We are thinking about possibly getting another Lab when Hope gets a little older. The end of August we lost one of our Maltese, she was 15 and lived a good life with us. Now we have Maddie, the other maltese who is about 13 and of course Hope. Can't forget the cat too. We certainly love our animals. We keep looking at your website and saw that Sugar and Floyd had a litter. I'm sure all the new parents will love those puppies as much as we love Hope.

I wanted to write to say that Ellie born 01/23/09 is my side kick. She is wonderful I don't know how we did without a dog for so long. She is attending her 3rd class at petsmart. Also even if Ellie is a bird dog she gets along so good with my birds. She sleeps with us everynight, and where ever i am she is not to far behind. In September we took she swimming for the 1st time and she did great.I have attached a couple of pictures. The one is with my son's puppy.

Mrs. Nacy and Mr. Levin:
I am so sorry it has taken me so long to write you all. I graduated college in May and a week before I graduated college I was already in training for the Maryland State Police (live in academy). So, the past 9 months have been completely chaotic. I have been thinking about you all and hope everything is going well.
Malu is a great puppy with lots of manners. Everyone tells me that she is the best labrador that they have ever seen and I could not agree more. I am so glad I found a breeder who breeds the highest quality labs. Every morning she runs out to grab my dad's paper at the end of the driveway and immediately returns. She loves to chase a ball or stick and even swim. I also just started running with her for short distances and she stays right by my side. Her yellow coat is just gorgeous and we get many comments. Most of all she loves to cuddle up and keeps me warm at night.
Attached are a few pics from when she was a few weeks old to 10 months old.

Again, thank you for all your help and I apologize that it has taken me a while to get back to you all.

comments: I am writing on behalf of my 7 year old son who was 16 months when we purchased our black lab (from Yeager) from you back in June 2003. We named her Freyga (a Norse name). If I remember correctly her mother was Yeager. Not only do we love Freyga dearly anyone who comes into our home fallsin love with her because of of her great temperment. Edmund's best friend family has started looking at dogs and wanted to kow where we got her and if we would recommend the breeder. Naturaly we said YES. This got both ALice and Edmund thinking about Freyga's birth mother. I said that she may have retired or even passed on becasue she was older than Freyga. So their question is could Ed's friend get a pup from the same mother as Freyga? This started getting my husband thinking as well as he was thinking about perhaps getting another puppy more towards the summer though so Edmund and Alice can be part of the puppy's training. We would only be looking for a female (black I think) and was wondering what the price ranges are now days. Due to my limitataions on the computer I cannot get a picture of Freyga emailed but she is beautiful. A final comment to your statement that you breed quality dogs I feel came from our vet this summer. During her yearly checkup the vet stated that he has not seen such a helathy black lab at six years of age in a very long time. Naturally he monitors her hips but that is common for all large doags. Again thank you for taking the time to breed such beautiful dogs.

Hi Nancy and Levin!
I wanted to email you to let you know how my sweet Bella is doing. She is the most wonderful pup anyone could ask for. She's so smart and I'm CONSTANTLY getting compliments on her coat and how beautiful she is, something that really can only come from great breeding! The first few months I had her it was hard to get anywhere quickly because so many people would stop us on the street. She now weighs about 50 lbs but still thinks she's little. She loves everyone and cuddles up with me every night. Attached are some pictures, Bella and her best friend Lucille when I first got Bella and then Bella and Lucille recently, and finally a picture of Bella on the Forth of July sitting in a chair (she climbed up by herself!). Subj: Bogey and Wrigley
Dear Nancy and Levin,

We hope this e-mail finds you well. We are the proud owners of Bogey, who is now 11 weeks and was born on May 15 to Tess and Floyd, and Wrigley, who is now 10 months and was born on October 2 to Xena and Floyd. While two puppies has kept us very busy this summer, we are so thrilled to be the owners of step-siblings who get along so well!
Bogey is definitely a rascal, but still very well-behaved. He is an instigator of playtime with his big sister, and is constantly on-the-go. He follows Wrigley constantly, and does whatever she does. Wrigley tries to assert herself as the big sister by taking toys away from Bogey, but we tell her that her little brother will most likely be bigger than she someday! Bogey has found his bark, eats well, sleeps soundly (went all night from the first night). Belly rubs are his favorite form of attention! Overall, he has been very adaptable between our beach house in DE and our permanent home in MD.
Attached to this e-mail are a few pictures of the puppies. Thanks for breeding such great dogs. We'll be sure to stay in touch!

Subj: Guinness Update - Missy & Lefty Litter (05/04/09)

Hi Nancy and Levin,
I just wanted to send you an update on Guinness?the beautiful female Chocolate lab that we received from Missy & Lefty?s litter. She?s 14 week?s old today and just as lively as a puppy could possibly be. She?s very sociable. Great with both humans and other dogs. Her personality just could not be better?loves to cuddle and gives lots of kisses (when she?s not nipping). She already has a huge following of fans from co-works & family to total strangers. Everyone remarks about how good looking and healthy she is and how much she?s grown in such a short time.
She loves to run and explore. We?ve taken her swimming a couple of time already?she?s still getting used to it but seems to enjoy herself. The family farm is a favorite of hers as it allows her to run off the lead with the other dogs. She?s not the biggest fan of her crate?it?s something that we are continuing to work on.
She?ll be receiving her final ?puppy shot? in two weeks?and then we start professional training. She is extremely smart?already has sit and lie down and some other commands mastered. We could not have asked for a better dog. Thank you both so much for such a wonderful friend and family member.

Subj: Update on puppy

Hi, Nancy-
It was nice to finally meet you on Saturday when we picked up the pup (Missy/Lefty pup born May 4, 2009). My son was thrilled as expected. He named her SPLASH, since he is a competitive swimmer heading off to swim in college and her mother has that explosive water entry trait. We think it's a perfect name for her.
See Splash picture

The transition has gone smoothly for her. She seems very well adjusted and happy, wagging her tail much of the time especially if one of us is showering her with kisses which is quite often. She is eating well and playful when she is awake. She has not slept through the night yet, but also has not had any accidents in the house as long as we are dutiful about taking her outside regularly.
We are very happy to have her in our family now and are grateful to you for raising such a wonderful puppy. I have attached a photo, even though I am sure you have not forgotten what she looks like in just a couple of days.
Take care. My husband is already talking about getting another one down the road, so I will stay in touch with you.

Dear Nancy and Levin,
Shyla has always been a very beautiful dog, winning a photo contest through Kong Company at a young age. We were really having a tough time working through her extremely high energy drive and teaching her the obedience she needed. Shyla really would have been great at doing what she was breed to do, the problem was that we wanted her to be our lay around the house family dog. This past spring we had sent her to your trainer Bob who had worked miracles with her. I can now say that we have the perfect companion, she not only has her beauty but also the manners that she was lacking. Shyla is a wonderful house dog that our family including 3 children is enjoying very much. She is very well tempered and doesn?t have one aggressive bone in her body, that you see most dogs having now days. When we sent her off to Bob she weighed 90lbs. and he was able to get her down to a healthy 82lbs. Back when we had first pick of this litter we had wanted a big female, so we picked the biggest girl you had. We are very pleased with the size that Shyla has matured into at 22 months old. Thank you so much for a very well rounded Labrador.

Dear Nancy & Levin,
Mojo (Tank x Missy 2/22/08) has recently gotten into dock diving, which combines two of his favorite things ? chasing a Frisbee and being in the water.
After two events (Delmarva Dock Dogs in Havre de Grace on 5/2 and Chesapeake Dog Dogs in Frederick on 5/16) his best distance is 18 feet, 3 inches, which has garnered him third place in the Senior Division, even though he?s a novice.
The attached shots are from his jump in Frederick; a friend of ours said he looks like he should be wearing a cape!

Hi Nancy & Levin,
I'm sorry it has taken me so long to drop you a note regarding our puppy Sawyer. He has been an absolute delight! We receive so many compliments on what a relaxed and well-mannered pup he is. I'd like to say it has to do with my abilities as a trainer, but I'd have to give credit to his breeding as well. He is about 90pct housebroken and our only real complaint is that he is still an early riser (at least for us). Otherwise he is a very quick learner and a lot of fun to be around. He has adapted well living with our senior (almost 14 yrs) female lab and they have become very good companions. Thanks again for producing great quality pups. We will certainly recommend Peaches and Pups to anyone who asks! I will send you a picture soon, but as of this writing none have made it from my camera to the computer!

Hi Nancy and Levin
I wanted to let you know about our puppy from Floyd and Sugar (12/27/08). Cole is a joy! He seems to have been born with manners. At 11 weeks he sits on command and retrieves the newspaper from the driveway every morning. He cant make it up the steps with the newspaper but as soon as I open the door he will run and get it and drag it to the front steps. I think he is potty trained, no accidents in 4 days. When he meets other animals he is so calm and respectful. We could not be happier with him. We are following the rules in The Art of Raising Your Puppy but some parts are hard to follow, like not letting him sleep in out bed. Cole is so cuddly.
I do have a question. We are keeping him on the food you had him on and the bag says to feed him 3 cups a day until he is 12 weeks. At 12 weeks cut him back to 2 cups. He will be 12 weeks next week but right now he is still looking for more food after 3 cups a day. I dont want to cut him back to soon. What do you think?

We can't believe that our puppy is growing so fast! She is 45 pounds! She just graduated from puppy training at PETSMART and is loosing her teeth quickly! She also loves to fetch and she knows how to sit and drop the frisbee as she retrieves. She sleeps like an angel and we usually have to wake her up in the morning! She is very friendly with other dogs and doesn't understand that sometimes, they don't want to play with her! Lucy loves to sit by the fire and watch TV with us(literally)! She stares at the screen all the time! Lucy is a joy to be around and we love her very much! Some pictures are attached of her playing in the snow! Wrigley (Xena and Floyd 10/2/08) has been a wonderful addition to our family. After a rough start with some GI upset, she has settled in quite nicely. She now weighs 22 pounds, is sitting on command, walks on a leash well, and is a very hearty eater. She has yet to leave one kibble! She has a sweet, mellow demeanor and eyes that melt anyones heart. She chews everything outside but luckily yet little indoors. SHe plays and wrestles with all the neighborhood dogs and is very social.
Sadly, we lost our almost 15 year old dog on December 28th and Wrigley has truly helped us get over the loss with her warmth and unconditional love. Thank you for providing us with such a gem!

He is still our "baby" and likes to think he can still sit in our laps even though he has grown into a well behaved handsome 82lbs. Gabe wanted us to let you know that he passed his AKC Canine Good Citizen test today with a perfect score. He is very proud of his accomplishment- as are we!

Merry Christmas,
Frank & Kelli

He is great with the kids, very smart, and the pictures show he is a lean mean machine loves to run the 4 acres and fetch the racquetball. You will definitly see again when you are ready for next one in a little while.

Subj: CHET

Hello there,
Just wanted to drop a quick line to say all is well with CHET. The car ride home was uneventful, he slept the whole way home. We have done intensive work since we have been home. He is so good! He sleeps in his crate 11pm - 5 am (that is when I get up, a couple days, I woke HIM). He has learned SIT, and we are working on FETCH and COME. He is getting used to his leash, mostly dragging it around the house for now. He is biting/chewing quite a bit, but we stay on him about it.He has been socialized quite a bit. Lots of people and other dogs have come to visit him, and that went much better than expected. We had a full house for Thanksgiving and he spent it playing, sleeping and being very lovable. He gets along great with Clyde and other labs. Not so good with a PUG! But I think that is more the Pug then CHET. He is house broken pretty well! Only a few little mishaps (#1) he was picked up and taken out to his spot, and now he knows. When he is not in his crate or playing outside, he loves to curl up next to me as I lay on the floor watching TV. Of course there is still lots of work, but so far he is doing great. He attempts to try and show that he is the boss, however, we firmly show him that will not be the case. He loves to eat and seems to know when "chow time" is, as he will sit by the food container staring at it. He goes to the vet on Monday. I attached a small picture, I will send more when I get them loaded from camera to computer.

Subj: Hello To Tanner's Birthplace!

Hello!
Just wanted you to know that Tanner (from Rocky and Patty/2001) continues to be a great household companion. He was always by my side as I underwent intensive breast cancer treatment last year - and beat it!
I want to thank you for keeping our "letter" on your website - at that time Tanner was a pup and we were planning a birthday party for a 12 year old who is now off at college (at UGA - go DAWGS - haha!).
We check your site periodically for a "virtual visit."

Many thanks,

Subj: Mojo (Tank X Missy 2/22/08)

Dear Nancy & Levin,
Mojo?s really growing quickly. Six months ago he was 10-1/2 pounds, now he?s 75 pounds of unstopability. He?s the terror of all squirrels, a friend to all kids, inhaler of food of all kinds, and the light of our lives!
Everyone who sees him comments on his perfect face, beautiful coat, and how well behaved he is (the latter is thanks to the three obedience classes he aced); we could not have a better and more lovable dog. We can?t stop bragging on him ? take a look at the pics and you?ll see why!
Mojo picture 1
Mojo picture 2
We swim him every week at the local canine fitness center near Annapolis, which seems to be his favorite thing (along with chasing squirrels & rabbits, playing tug, playing catch, eating, running, jumping, face licking, and generally being a dog!)
Thanks again for breeding the best Labs in the world.

Subj: Update on Trevi from Floyd and Sugar 5/8

Hello Nancy,
I wanted to update you on how things have been going with Trevi as we've come a long way and she is such an amazing addition to our family. First of all she is an incredibly smart dog which obviously comes from good breeding. I believe when I last emailed you in July we were having difficulty with her biting and mouthing at everything but we successfully got her out of that habit and quickly I'm not exaclty sure what did it, we did a combo of everything from the advice in New Skete to what friends and family did as well, but she isnt nearly as mouthy, she might put her mouth on me but never bites down, even now in the crazy teething phase. (I found 7 teeth around the house the other day) Everything new in training we do she picks up within 5 minutes. She plays fetch amazingly. As for tricks she sits, stays, lay's down (we like to do Hit the Deck which is when she lays down really dramatically) and she loves double high five! She goes to doggie day care twice a week and she LOVES making new doggie friends. The daycare employees also always gush on how good and sweet she is and well behaved compared so the other lab puppies they get in and it makes me feel like such a proud mommy! Thank you so much for giving us such a great dog!

Subj: Brandy (Tina Turner/Floyd litter born 7/21/08)

Nancy:
Well it has been a week since we picked up Brandy. We took her to the Veterinarian 3 days after we picked her up, and everything checked out perfectly.
You can see from the photo she was somewhat sad on the way home. Once in our house she was greeted by my daughter's 5 month old Australian Shepherd, and they had a great time. She eats very well, she is well adjusted to her crate, and house breaking is proceeding very smoothly. She does want out about once per night, but goes right back to the crate without as much as a whimper.
I have been referring to the book you recommended "The Art of Raising a Puppy" and it has been very helpful. It has given me that little extra confidence knowing that I am raising the puppy the best way possible.

Thanks so much,

Hello Nancy & Levin,
Lou, Louie & I want to let you know Ranger is doing exceptionally well adjusting to his new home. He handled the 2 hour car ride home favorably, and he doesn't even get up during the night...amazing. When he does wake up, he just lays there quiety until one of us (me) gets up and takes him out!
He is quite the little spit fire...he misses his rough & tumble play time with his sisters and brothers, and I think our feet and ankles remind him of his siblings! Ranger is a VERY curious little puppy, and attracted to the most unusual things, like the metal coffee table legs and the slate stone around the woodstove. Don't worry though, we have plenty of toys for him, and we watch him like a hawk. He loves to run in the backyard too.
We take Ranger on his first vet visit tomorrow...we'll let you know how things go, and we will send more photos as he grows.

I just want to let you know he has captured our hearts more than I ever thought possible....

Subj: Peri, 2nd pick of the litter (Lefty x Lady, May 2008)

Dear Nancy,
I just wanted to give you an update on our puppy. We've named him Peri. He's growing like a weed. He's about doubled in size since he came home with us. Liam, our older dog, has begun to initiate play with him which is terrific. He's been really intrigued by our cats. They're being pretty good with him too. I can't get over how calm and mellow Peri is, a result of excellent breeding! He's coming when called about 75% of the time and sits on command. We're working on getting used to a leash. At the moment he prefers to hold it in his mouth and chew on it unless he's distracted. He sees the vet on Aug. 2 for his next set of shots. I'm really looking forward to being able to walk him and to begin obedience classes with him when he's old enough. I noticed that you're breeding Lady and Lefty again. That'll be wonderful for all those lucky puppy parents to be.

Subj: Mojo update - info

Hi Nancy & Levin,
Just checking in with an update on Mojo (Tank X Missy, 2/22/08). Since we got him, he?s been growing like a weed. He weighed 10 pounds when we picked him up on April 12, and as of yesterday he?s up to 40 pounds of furry fury, plus his tail is now as long as his entire body was when we got him. He?s always into something (bugs, rocks, sticks, balls, and all manner of vegetation) and keeps us on the go.
He just graduated from puppy kindergarten (with flying colors, I might add), and starts obedience class next week. He?s very smart and to date Lynne has taught him to sit/stay, down/stay, roll over, high five, and fetch the paper & mail. He loves running in the park, digging in his sandbox, and splashing in his kiddie pool that he treats like a walk-in waterdish. We can?t imagine what we ever did before we got him ? he?s added a wonderful dimension to our lives.
We are sending a couple of shots of Mojo to you in separate, following emails. The first one, taken on Cinco de Mayo, shows the boss sitting on a Mexican blanket ? we call it Cinco de Mojo. The other one was taken last week in the back yard while he was chasing one of his toys, a rubber tree branch (he also likes the real thing!). You can see from his coat that he had just leaped out of his pool before we snapped the shot.
See Cinco de Mojo

All the best,

Subj: New puppy

Dear Nancy,
We've decided to name the puppy Peri (Lefty x Lady, May 2008), short for Peregrine, after one of our favorite characters in the 'Fellowship of the Ring' movie. He had his first vet visit yesterday. Dr, Hardy was delighted with him. He said he's a good weight, 9#, healthy, and has a great temperament. We told him how hard it had been to make a decision as to which puppy to bring home. He said that was due to good breeders. Peri did really well in the car going over as well as during his exam. He actually slept all night last night. His eyes are definitely turning brownish. We think he's bigger than he was when we brought him home. He's scrambling up the three steps to the back porch without any trouble and we're discouraging that unless he's under strict supervision. Our next hurdle is convincing him that his crate is the best place to be when we're out of the house. I'm in and out today so he'll begin to get the idea.
We hope your mom is doing OK and she's in our prayers as are you.

Pam

We made it home great! Skippy (Sugar/Floyd yellow female born on May 8, 2008) whimpered a little and then napped. When we got home we took her to her dog run and she did her business. Then we brought her into the house through the house garage and she made it no further than the family room. She sacked out right there...on the cool floor...and took almost an hour nap! When she woke up, we gave her food and water, which she enjoyed. Then we went out in the yard where she was facinated with grass! She chased me round and round the tree! And guess what?! She can already go up the two steps to the landing from our hallway into the kitchen! Now, Nancy, I don't care how smart she is, she can't be this smart, but this is what she did: she wanted more food so she barked and jumped up on the food can where she saw us get her food. Now is that a coincidence or is my baby Skippy that smart?! I've already taken about 50 pictures. And all our friends have been calling and asking if we got her today. So I set up a group of 16 names and sent them all a message and photos. Later, I added you to the group, so you'll get updates from time to time. We can't thank you enough. I think we are a perfect fit. She is unbelievably contented. Thank you for the care and the integrity that you and Levin bring to the art of "breeding" a puppy! And thanks for the cherries. We had some with our lunch. They are delicious!

Just wanted to say thank you for a great dog. It has been almost 10 months since we picked up Brandy. She is out of the July 11 breeding of eve and chance. Our whole family just loves her and we get all kinds of comments how beautiful she is. She is my constant companion as I work here on the farm and loves to ride in the tractor and truck. She lives to retrieve and will bring just about anything she can carry to have it thrown and bring it back. This is the second one of your dogs that we have had and would highly recommend your puppies to anyone whether they want a hunting dog or a dog for their family pet. When we picked her up we had talked about the products that you use for flea and tick control and I was wondering if you could email me with the name of the product that you use and the web site where you get it. Thanks again and I have attached a few of the many pictures that we have of Brandy

Here are two pictures of her on the day we brought her home -- she made herself comfortable immediately and hasn?t looked back! Hi Nancy and Levin,
Gabe (Tank/Rosie 11/07) had his last puppy checkup with our vet this past week. She went on and on about how handsome he was- his proportions are "just right" and he's the best looking lab she has seen in a long time. Now, Frank & I have always thought that, but we thought we were just biased. We've also been working with a trainer who specializes in service dog training and she continues to tell us that he is one of the two calmest labs she has ever met. He is spoiled rotten, just take a look at the photo of him and Carlee napping together on the couch. His favorite activities are off leash hikes in the Blue Ridge Mountains and puppy playgroup on Thursdays (he comes back nice and tired!) I would love to get a yellow girl from you one day soon, but I need to save up some pennies first! :) That being said... your dogs are well worth the money. Can't thank you enough for our little guy- he keeps a smile on our face every day!

Subject: Chocolate pups!
From: Kim

To: peachesandpups@aol.com

Hello Nancy and Levin,
It was so wonderful to see that you guys are still going strong breeding wonderful lab puppies. Approximately 16 years ago, my husband and I purchased a chocolate lab from you. We are originally from Annapolis Md. and we came to your home to pick him out, and for subsequent visits before he was old enough to take home. Well his name was Hootie and he was with us for almost 15 years. You can imagine he was our first child and with us for most of our marriage. He was with us through the birth of our two boys and remained a faithful companion. In August of 2005 we relocated for my husbands job to Chesapeake Virginia. We were so worried that this might be too much on Hootie. Well he loved it. He was the social butterfly of the cal de sac. All of our neighbors loved him and when he passed away everyone was devastated.

It has been a year and a half since losing Hootie, and we both feel we could never replace the dog that he was, but I think it's time to create new memories with a new family member. A few weeks ago I caught my husband looking online at puppies and he asked if I remembered your name. Without a moments hesitation I said, "The VanSants." With that, he went directly to your website and of course it has been in the forefront of our thoughts ever since. I see you have a litter due around Feb. 24th and there are deposits on the first 2 chocolate males. We would definitely want a chocolate male and we would be willing to wait if it didn't happen with this litter. If you could give me some information regarding the prices and required deposit for your puppies I would greatly appreciate it. I look forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance for your time.

Sincerely,
Kim and Chris

Dear Nancy and Levin,
Happy New Year! Just a quick note to let you know Bear is in his new home and doing well. We had our first vet visit on Monday. He did great! They started him on the heartworm prevention and had us schedule his next vaccine appt. Since his vet visit we have been acclimating him to the house and indoctrinating him into a routine and potty training. His is such a smart and inquisitive lil guy...a true pleasure to have as a member of our family! New Year's Eve came and went without incident...despite neighborhood fireworks!
Yesterday we had some of the neighbors over and all were amazed at his great attitude and demeanor...he is a fearless bundle of joy and will be a great hunter! Attached are some pictures we thought you might enjoy.

I have one quick question...it's about 29 degrees (colder in the wind)...when is it too cold to take him outside for potty?
The stroller should arrive either today or tomorrow. As soon as it does we will send pics of Bear getting ready for some USMC physical training!
Hope the New Year finds you well!

Hi Nancy and Levin,
I know you already know this, but Gabe went for his vet appointment this morning and he is in excellent health! Our vet said he had great conformation and was glad to see that he didn't have cataracts (she has seen them a lot lately in lab puppies) and that his mandible was not too narrow. She also said that she can tell he is extremely intelligent and told us that he will require a lot of thought provoking activities (we figured so!). At 8 weeks he is weighing in at 16.4 lbs.
Thanks once again for a great dog!

Hi Nancy,
Thanks for the papers. We named our girl Leilani and will call her "Lani" for short. She is adjusting so well to Matt and me and our home. She was sleepy yesterday, but this morning she woke up full of energy and ready to play! She is eating and drinking just fine too. Best of all, she barely cries or whines!!! She is adjusting to her crate and we managed to sleep fairly well last night :) Today she climbed the deck stairs from the yard all of the way to the top (about 7 or 8 steps)! I didn't even have to show her how or coax her...she just hopped right up!
I attached a few pictures. Thanks again for everything. We will send pictures periodically and stop back in July for peaches!

Hi Levin and Nancy,
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. The new puppy was a big hit with the kids- they were very surprised! We have named him Paradise Alley's Chief Messenger and call him "Gabe" (short for Gabriel). See Gabe's picture Figured if we named him after an angel, he would have to be one. ;) He made the 6 hour trip back to Roanoke without incident and is doing great. He loves to play, but his favorite time of day is definitely meal time. When he comes inside he immediately goes to his food bowl and if there is nothing there he'll go and sit by the pantry door where he knows the food it kept. He's getting used to his crate, but wasn't a fan of it the first couple of nights. Last night he did really well though- he wimpered just a little when we put him to bed at 11pm and he slept until 5am! His first doctor's visit is next Wednesday and we'll be sure to keep you posted on his progress. We just love our little guy- thank you for the best Christmas present ever!

Happy New Year!

She is very smart and almost housebroken already. She sits, fetches, walks on the leash, and is just a bundle of sunshine. She enjoys the beach and we took her to our cabin in PA last weekend which was her favorite trip so far.
I've attached some pictures to the email : )

Good morning Nancy,
Thought I would share some new pictures we just took of Jake. As you can see he is growing very fast. He loves to sleep on the fireplace ? can get up but sits and cries to get down, always wants to be next or on something that belongs to us ? I guess he likes our scent. He did so good at the beach ? everyone that met him could not believe he was only 8 weeks old and how calm he was. I feel so guilty telling everyone how good he is and their horror stories??. We really have the cream of the crop. Have you heard from anyone else, are they experiencing the same thing we are???????

Hope all is well with you and Levin
Take care,
Cheryl

We are so much in love with our new puppy ?Jake. It was very hard leaving him this morning to go to work. He already seems so smart. Well we did what you suggested about having him stay with us in our bedroom, it has worked out perfectly so far so good!!!!!! No crying or whining and as soon as he gets up to walk around ? I take him outside to do his business and then back in we go. We put his crate together yesterday ? and he had to go into it for about 2 hours this morning ? when my husband got back he was sound asleep in the corner. Our lives have already improved 100 % due to the kind and gentle upbringing of your dogs and their puppies, I?ll say it again you have a very special way that shows thru these dogs and we all have you to thank.

I?ll be sending pictures later in the week, just wanted to let you know how happy Michael and I both are with this beautiful Lab.

Talk to you real soon,
Cheryl

Levin and Nancy,
First off I would like to apologize for not writing to you sooner. We purchased a puppy from you a little over 3 years ago and we couldn't have been more pleased. She is a Yellow Lab and we named her Rose. We drove down from New Jersey to choose our puppy with our kids and then came back a few weeks later to pick her up when she was ready.
We are so pleased with her. She is a wonderful dog!! Very smart and has been quick to learn. She is wonderful with our kids and very playful. This is our Rose!! My husband has taken her hunting without any formal training and he was very surprised and happy with how well she did!!! He was completely amazed. Some of the other hunters that he was with would have bet that she was fully trained. Thank you so much for all that you do and with the care and time that you take to raise such loving and beautiful dogs!! We are definitely keeping you in our plans for another puppy in the future!!

Levin and Nancy,
I just wanted to let you know how our little puppy, Cale, is doing on his first birthday! Well, he's not so little anymore: about 85 lbs and in good health. He was quite the handful for awhile - very hyper (as all puppies are, of course!), but after some good training classes and lots of love and attention - he is a very good dog. He is still full of energy, but he's calmed down considerably in the house and he leaves our son's toys alone now. He loves to retrieve his balls and frisbees, and he is very smart and lovable. He treats our two-year old son wonderfully and likes to play with the cat. Cale and the cat both sleep at the foot of our bed every night, sometimes on top of each other! Thank you for breeding such a lovable dog. Tell Lady she did good. I've attached a few photos so you can see how great he looks. He's very dark brown. We would recommend your kennel to anyone who asks!

Dear Nancy and Levin,
Allow us to thank you for the beautiful edition to our home. Kiwi (Lady-Casey pup 2/12/07) is the talk of the town with her good looks and her endless desire to please. She is such a loveable pup. She gets along with every other puppy that she meets including our neighboor's rottewieler. Kiwi loves the beach. She is an amazing swimmer!!!! She was fearless in retrieving tennis balls over the waves in the ocean. It is hard to believe that she is only 18 weeks old. We never thought we would be enjoying puppyhood as much as we have. Last week at the vet she weighed in at 28 pounds. On another note, please let us know when the peaches are available. We would love to bring Kiwi to see her mother again. We have attached some pictures to share with you. Hope is all is well and good luck with the two current litters.

Nancy/Levin
Just a update on our family member "Maverick" (Annie/Casey pup, May 2005). See Maverick's picture. Well let's see. He is coming up on 2 years and has been a joy to have around. He is in excellent condition he weighs about 78 lbs and is very active. I still believe he is one of the smartest dogs I have ever seen. Of course he is my dog. I cannot go anywhere without him tagging along. He is very careful around children and will fetch as long as you throw it he will bring it back and will go for hours at a time. When I am around him he pays strict attention to me. If anyone calls him while I am around it goes through one ear and out the other and won't even flinch. I take him the park every day for his exercise and to socialize him with the other dogs. People are constantly commenting on how good he looks. We are extremely satisfied with Maverick. Our other dog is getting way up in the years and we will probably start locking into purchasing another pup from you guys shortly. Please keep us informed on puppy availability. We will stay in touch and thanks again.

Hi again,
Here is a very spoiled Kolby (Eve/Chance 11/16/04) who thinks he is a small house cat and climbs the furniture like a mountain goat while chasing our 3 cats! See Kolby's picture. He weighs 72# and is just a very handsome boy. His hips are OFA EXCELLENT and his elbows are normal. His eyes are clear. We have the perfect female yellow lab to breed with and hopefully Kolby will sire his first litter this spring. His retreiving/hunting skills are just unbelievable. He is an excellent hunter who can find, catch, toss around in the air and then eats the baby bunnies like they were candy! (Makes me sick every time he finds one!) I have been fortunate enough to have rescued 7 babies from his jaws (thank goodness for those gentle jaws) and raised them to be healthy yound adults and released back to the wild! We'll email more pictures shortly.

All the best,
Kolby

Nancy and Levin,
Just wanted to drop a quick line to let you know how much we love our Molly, who is now two years old. She is a sweetheart, and a wonderful addition to our family. Our older chocolate lab Morgan loves her, too. They play with each other all day, everyday. She turned out to be about 53-55 pounds, a very petite girl. She can handle herself, however, and believes she is a lot larger than she actually is! She is very loyal, smart, and obedient unless there's a ball to be had in the area. She LOVES swimming (especially running and jumping off the end of a dock) and hiking, which we try to do on weekends during good weather. Thank you so much- hope you enjoy the picture!

Hi Nancy and Levin,
I have been so busy at work I have not had a chance to thank you both. Chef our chocolate Lab is so wonderful, words can not express how happy both Mary and I are. Chef is so smart he was house broken in about 4 weeks. He now barks at the back door when he has to go out. We have just finished up our first set of training classes and start our next 8 week session in mid January. Chef is a quick learner and wants so much to please. Chef has the best temperament at times I can not believe it. We have three young children the oldest is five the youngest just turned one, Chef is only six months he is so good with them. They all play in the yard and tire each other out. Our little guy lays all over him in his bed and Chef just lies there.
I will send along some pictures of the gang soon.
Again Nancy you and Levin were a pleasure to deal with, and the dogs you breed are amazing in temperament, smarts, and looks. I get stop-ed all the time by people asking me where we got Chef, they all say the same thing, what a good looking dog and what a coat. We always give them your name and pass along your web site. In fact one of our clients Karen should be picking up her puppy from you soon.

Thanks Again

Just wanted to let you know we are pumping full the training pond we built. As of Tuesday it was ankle to knee deep. Cutter had a blast retrieving in the water and he is an outstanding swimmer. He keeps his head down and rear end up. No splashing. Just nice even, easy strokes. He is quiet at night and only gets up once. He is also figuring out house breaking. Things are going well.
I was wondering if you registered the litter on line. I am not going to fool with creating an account with the AKC website if I can?t register him online. I?ll just send it in.

She is beautiful, loving and very playful. She and her big brother Magnum get along very well in spite of their size difference at the moment. It is unreal how well she is doing with being house broken!!! We went to the vet today and weighed in at a solid 13 pounds and all is well. I wanted to tell you thank you for our wonderful female lab we named Sophie (from Eve/Chance litter). She has already brought us so much joy and she has only been with us for one week. She has fit in very well with our 4 year old Golden named Max. He has been great with her and it is so neat to see how gentle he is with her when they wrestle. Sophie was very socially adjusted to people and other dogs when we got her. We can tell that you spent a lot of time with the pups before they went to new homes. We have 10, 12 and 14 year old boys who absolutely love her and are taking a big part of the responsibility of raising her. Thank you again, I would highly recommend your kennel to anyone who is looking for a beautiful, healthy dog. I will send pictures as soon as I can.

Subject: Our New Puppy

Hi Nancy & Levin,
I'm FINALLY able to go in my computer room for a minute while the little darling is asleep - and I wanted to give you an update. We named our puppy Sienna Skye and just call her Skye - I don't think she knows her name yet but we're working on it. Potty training is going very well, she hasn't had ANY poo-poo accidents in the house at all! She's sleeping all night without going in the crate - and she only whined the first 2 nights.
Skye had her first big outing on Sat. - we took her to a barbeque with lots of people and about a dozen other dogs. She was SO scared to ride in the car (10 minutes away), but when we got there she was the hit of the party! She got along great with the other dogs - and of course all the kids there had to pet her, which she loved! On the ride home she was asleep before we even left the driveway where the party was.
So - - we're obviously quite happy with our little (but already bigger) Skye. Here's a picture I took yesterday.
I've had a hard time getting many good pictures because she won't stay still for long - or she tries to eat the camera!
Well I better try to get a shower before somebody wants to play - anyway thanks very much, we are as pleased as we can be with our new family member Skye!

Take Care,
Paula & Greg

Hi Nancy and Levin,
I thought I'd send a long overdue picture of my little baby who's all grown up! Dexter (Stormy and Chance 9/16/04) is almost 22 months old and about 80 lbs. He still has the sweetest disposition of any dog I've ever met (I know my commentary is biased, but everyone who meets him says the same thing!) and gives everyone kisses just like his mom (-; I often get asked if he is 100% lab because he is so tall and lean, but when you see him in action, there is no doubt! This picture was taken in Sandbridge, Virginia a few weeks ago. Can you tell how much he LOVES the water? He tears right into the waves and would swim all day if I let him. He is also a great running partner and we play 'catch' instead of 'fetch', as Dexter can catch a tennis ball on the fly thrown from 40 yards away! I'll never stop thanking you bringing this wonderful creature into my life. Keep up the good work!

All the Best,

Hi Levin and Nancy,
We own Hershey, a three year old male out of Katie and Cody's March 2003 litter. I wanted to know if it would be possible for us to stop by possibly this Saturday 6/10 with Hershey, the best family pet a person could ask for. We will be at the beach this weekend and my husband, Chris, would really like to meet you and show off his best friend. Believe it or not, before Hershey joined our family, Chris was NOT a dog person. But because he is such a great dog Chris is probably one of your biggest fans as breeders.

Anyway, if we wouldn't be imposing and you had the time we'd love to thank you for this wonderful member of our family (and show him off!). Please let me know.

Hi Nancy and Levin, I'm sending some current pictures of our handsome boy Kolby who is 16 months old now. He is very intelligent, loving, quite the cuddler and thinks he is a person!. He has turned in to quite the hunter, especially great at catching rabbits. He absolutely adores and loves his baby sister Sunny (who I will send pictures of in a separate email) as well as Sunny's sister Sophie who was adopted by our friends. He is tall, lean and extremely strong. He has great posture and a super sweet disposition. We have never had a lab that runs as fast as he does or one that leaps over a 4 foot wall in a single bounce! (Thank goodness he hasn't figured out that he can leap the outside fences yet!) His social skills are the best! We just love him!

Here are some beautiful photo's of our precious little girl Sunny who is now 16 weeks old. She is such a joy. Sunny has the same sweet disposition, easy going manner and gentleness as Kolby does. She looks more like Chance than Kolby does and has the coloring of Eve. She absolutely adores Kolby and has constant play dates with Sophie. She is also very social, loves to give kisses and be held like a baby! She is extremely calm (Kolby has higher energy and is constantly going) and really loves to be with people too. We are just so pleased with both Sunny and Kolby and are so proud of both of them. It's also great to see Sunny's littermate/sister Sophie and watch how they are progressing with their new families.

Hi Nancy,
Here is a picture of Shannon at 3 1/2 months old. She is doing great and is fully house trained and sleeps in her crate without any problems. She sits and comes on command, she is working on leash training now, she still needs some work in that area. The boys and her are best of friends and she gets real excited when they come home from school. She still gets excited and nips at the boys every now and then but she has gotten much better. I have talked to Bob, and I think we will send her to him around June for some training. The big problem with that is that Kim doesn't want her to be away for 6 weeks, so we will see what happens. Bob has suggested some videos and I am trying to train her so she will be ready for him, she is very bright and learns fast. She got back from the Vet today and weighs 26 lbs and is in perfect health. She is so funny every time we try to take a picture of her she closes her eyes, I guess she is anticipating the flash. My mother-in-law has a chocolate lab who is about a year old and they love to rough house and play. She definitely is not shy, she holds her own and never backs down. She is pretty much fearless except for when I correct her. Thank you again for such a wonderful addition to our family we are very pleased with her. I will send you a picture when she is six month's old and I will make sure her eyes are open.

As a previous owner of 4 labs, my fifth, Annie out of Casey and Katie is by far the smartest and easiest to have trained for a house dog. I sure could have used her other skills all the years I spent in Alaska. Her retreival instincts are incredible although she has had no formal training. Her disposition has remained very pleasant and she has been the least destructive of any puppy I have owned. Her one fault is the insistence on joining me in the hot tub. I must admit if I didn't have the limit constraints by the city on how many dogs I could own, I would be placing another order for a pup. Sorry I cannot send a picture of Annie as I have not the computer skills of the 21st century.

Hi Nancy,
I just wanted to say thank you for our female yellow lab puppy we named Sophie. She has already brought us so much joy and she has only been with us for one week. She fits in very well with our 4 year old golden named Max. It is really neat to see how gentle he is with her when they wrestle. We have 10, 12 and 14 year old boys who love her and are doing a great job helping taking care of her. When we got Sophie she was very socially adjusted to people and dogs. She wasn't nervous or scared of a lot of things like some puppies can be. We could tell that you have spent a lot of time with the puppies before they went to their new homes. We would highly recommend your kennel to anyone who is thinking about getting a lab puppy. I will send pictures of her soon. Thank you again.

Hi Nancy & Levin,
Well, it's been a week today that Sunny became part of our ever expanding family and she is truly a little sweet heart. She has completely adapted to her new life and new family and in so many ways is exactly just like her brother Kolby. They have become best buddies and are constantly at each other's side (playing, sleeping, eating, wrestling, running). She has had play dates with Sophie and loves to be with her as well. Her house breaking is going great (a lot faster than with Kolby) and she is adjusting to her crate. Kolby hates it when she is in there and tries chewing her out of "puppy jail". She is only getting up once a night to go out (and yes she is sleeping in our bed with Kolby there too!) She barked for the first time yesterday at one of our cats and scared herself when it came out. She like Kolby thinks that our cats are their personal chase toys without batteries. Once again the two of you have produced another miracle with your breeding program. I'll take some new pictures of Sunny with Sophie at their play date. Then you will see how the two girls are doing!

Hi Nancy and Levin,
Well, Sunny and Sophie (that's Laurie's dog) made it home safe and sound. We fed her a little when we got home and then we played outside and then we came back in and ate a little more and then played a lot outside and now she is finally napping. Kolby at first was a little too excited and rolled her twice in the yard but she soon learned that when he comes barreling over to lay low! He tried to carry her like I thought he would but soon realized that it just wasn't going to happen. Hershey could care less about her and one of our two cats is sitting on top of her kennel watching her sleep. The boys are just thrilled and they all want to take her to "their room to sleep". After she is house broken. She did go to the french door in the kitchen and put her paws on the glass to go out and did her business. Maybe this one will be faster and easier since she has two others to follow.
She will have a play date soon with Sophie and I will get pictures for you as well. We plan to keep these two playing together at least once a week so they don't forget each other! We are all just thrilled to have her here.
See Austin, Sunny, Erik and Evan
See the boys, Kolby and Sunny

Many hugs & puppy kisses (love that puppy smell and puppy breath!)

Dear Nancy & Levin
Attached is a picture of Maverick - the picture is a month old. Maverick has been the best dog we have ever owned. He is very sociable and enjoys the lake trips with the family. Everywhere we go we get oodles of complements about him. He has become quite the house dog also. At eight months he looks just as cute as he looks on your Web page. This dog is all muscle and is so focused when fetching I can't wait to take him to the lake this next summer. This year he will get to spend the whole summer at the lake with us. I can't wait it is going to be a blast. We are so blessed to have Maverick as part of our family that we are thinking of purchasing another pup (chocolate) . Please let us know when the next litter will become available. I don't know if any of Maverick's brothers or sisters are in California if so please forward my e-mail address to them for a possible get together.

God Bless you All,

Hi Nancy - Happy New Year! Yes, I got your message and the person I was calling you about is John who ordered a chocolate female from Rosie/Casey that very same day (I thought he told you I had referred him which is why I didn't call you back - I didn't mean to be rude!)...he had said he wanted a yellow, but when he went on the website and saw Rosie he said she was such a beautiful dog, he had to have one of her puppies!

My boss lost a black lab last fall to cancer and has recently started moving toward getting a new puppy. He knows Dexter and what a wonderful and well behaved dog he is. I told him there was a litter in April from Dexter's father. He's not quite ready to move on, but when he does, he will be calling you!

I am at my work computer, so I don't have any pictures, but I will send one along soon. At 16 months Dexter is full grown at a lean 78 lbs. with long legs and a handsome face that looks just like Chance's picture on your website.

I can never thank you enough for the work you do - Dexter has brought such happiness to me and everyone he meets. My neighbors bring their 2 year old son Ryan over all the time to play with Dexter. Ryan can only throw the ball about 3 feet, but "Dek-ter" (as Ryan calls him) happily retrieves it and drops it back at Ryan's feet over and over again. He is so sweet and so obedient. You should hear Ryan squealing with delight! I will always give glowing recommendations for Paradise Kennels!

All the best to you and Levin!

Hi Nancy & Levin,
Just wanted to send you some recent photo's of Kolby and what he is up to now that he is one. He has discovered the joy of riding on the golf cart. We are teaching him to eat from a spoon! (Just to teach him to be gentle when given something so he doesn't snap at children's fingers) and he has found that he loves to eat avocado's from our orchard! He goes down to the tree, pulls a ripe one off the tree and eats it! (Fallbrook is known as the avocado capital of the world and Kolby is doing his part!) Have a great New Year!

Hi Nancy and Levin,
Here are four new photos of Kolby (Eve and Chance litter 11/16/04) who is now ONE! He is handsome, smart, strong, healthy and very lovable. He brings joy to our lives every day and we can't believe he is now one. We are complimented on his personality, looks and behavior where ever we take him. And he is anxiously awaiting the arrive of his new baby sister (Eve/Chance litter due any day now) and so are we. He is a very active puppy and loves to swim (actually dives under water) in the pool! He is one of the most social labs we have owned and actually still sleeps in our bed! We would love to see or hear from any of Kolby's litter mates to see how they are all doing. We hope these photo's speak for themselves as to how Kolby is thriving with our family and it's a compliment to you both as to why we ordered another puppy from his parents!

Hi Nancy and Levin,
Just wanted to give you an update on Baxter. He is about 6 months old now and weighing in at 51 lbs!!! He is an extremely happy and healthy boy. We get so many compliments on him every where we go. We have been working a lot with him as far as obedience training. He has been out of his crate now for about 2 months and is a perfect angel. It's really unbelievable how quickly he learned! We take him to basic training and he's "ahead of the class!". He whimpers from time to time during class because I think he is telling us, "I'm bored mom, can we learn something new!" He is just too cute! He has such an awesome temperament and we just love him to pieces!! Thanks again!

Hi Nancy and Levin, just wanted to write you guys to tell you how much we love our puppy Lacey (see attached pics). She is from Chance and Stormy's April 2005 litter and is now about 5 months old. You may remember the day I picked her up, as I was frantic because my sister happened to go into labor with her twin boys just as we arrived at your house.
Not only is Lacey a beautiful pup (I know we are proud parents but everyone else thinks so too), but she is so loving, sweet, and has a huge personality. She has also mastered the sit, stay, shake, and lie down commands!! She is about as healthy and happy as a puppy should be.
She has had a great life with us so far. Her best friend is a 3yr old Golden Retriever whom she plays with often. She has also most recently learned to swim...which she did her first time in about 5 minutes. She swam so far out we got worried she would just keep going:)
Anyway, we just wanted to share how awesome she is and how happy she has made us. Thanks again!!

Dear Nancy and Levin,
My husband Derek and I recently adopted Tess from Stormy and Chance's last litter. She is now 12 weeks old. We just wanted to write and thank you for her. She is a great puppy.
House training was a challenge, as we knew it would be. We live in an apartment building and have to take the elevator to go out. She understood almost right away that she should not go in the apartment, but the elevator was a point of confusion. I think we've got it now.
Tess likes to play with her toys and take naps on the couch. We start puppy kindergarden in a couple of weeks. She already knows sit and down ( when she wants to). I can't tell you how many people have told me what a beautiful puppy she is. I have enclosed a couple pictures. They are about 2-3 weeks old. I will send more as she gets older. Thank you again. Tess is a perfect addition to our little family.

Just thought to let you know that HRCH Chet's Susquehanna Storm MH-"Ike" completed his HRCH title in May of this year and MH title at the Weschester Retriever Club hunt test in Newburg, NY- July 10th. (Picture was taken after a training session last Sunday.)

Ike not only plays the HT games but is also and excellent gun dog for both waterfowl and upland birds. His temperment and personality are unsurpassed, he's a house dog and sleeps either on the couch or the foot of my bed.
At twenty six months, his hips OFA'd good and elbows were normal showing no signs of dysplasia, his eyes-CERF normal.

Our pup "Maverick" (Annie X Casey litter, 2005) had his first visit to the vet yesterday and everything went well. This is probably the smartest dog I have ever had. He sleeps all night I think because he makes absolutely no noise during the night and he fetches toys and brings them right back to you and puts it in your hand. "incredible". He has another visit next weekend for results of his stool sample and his next shots. I will keep you posted on his progress.

Hi Nancy & Levin,
Here are two current pictures of Kolby (Eve & Chance 11/16/04) who is now 7 months old Kolby picture 1, Kolby picture 2. He is extremely social, loves to play steal and keep away right now and absolutely loves to swim in the koi pond and dives in to the pool. He is so intelligent and is picking up his commands very fast. Kolby loves to give kisses, knows how to give a "high five" with his paw and has his sit command down. He is very proud of his new bandana and parades it around for all to see. We still allow him to sleep in our bed (he is quite the cuddler still!) and loves to have his morning showers! We are so impressed with your breeding that we have reserved another puppy from one of your up coming litters to be a play mate for Kolby. We will send more updated pictures so you can see what a handsome young man Kolby is turning out to be.

Just a quick note to let you know that Dexter is doing great. See Dexter's picture. He is just about 9 months old and loves to play with all the neighborhood dogs and ESPECIALLY loves to swim, which he does nearly every day in the pond in my neighborhood. He is one of the 13 pups from Stormy and Chance in September 2004. I often pull up the picture of Chance on your website and I think Dexter is a spitting image of his dad! I know they just had another litter, and the lucky people who take those puppies home are in for super smart dogs with the best disposition! Keep up the good work!

Hi, Nancy and Levin,

I just wanted to send you an update on Cody (Eve and Chance, Nov. 2004). She is doing great. We are starting puppy school on April 6, but she already knows "sit," "off," and "kisses"; retrieves the tennis ball, goes for long walks on the leash and rides in the car. She especially likes to rearrange the fallen limbs in our back yard and has adopted a plastic wheelbarrow we bought for our grandsons. She crate trained in about 10 minutes and was housebroken by the second week (of course we were vigilant about when she ate and drank!). Her color has darkened and her tummy is black! I will send a picture soon, but she looks just like Kolby.
She is a beautiful, wonderful puppy and we are very pleased.

He is now 3 1/2 months old, weighs 30# and is the love of our lives. He just spent a week at a friend's while we went on holiday and they couldn't stop praising us about how wonderful he was; how great he got along with their dog and children; he has a super disposition and calm loving personality and everyone still compliments us where ever we go on how beautiful he is and his coat color. He loves to give kisses and chase those honey bees still. We love the picture of the 2 pups in the wash bin as we know one of those pups is Kolby's litter mate (another great looking pup; and the choc is adorable too!). Hi Nancy & Levin,
Here is a picture of Kolby I took about 15 minutes ago. "Mr. Monster" was exploring the honey bees on the flowers!!! He has the cutest personality and the greatest disposition. He will have his next baby wellness check up this Thursday and I'm betting he weighs almost 25#! Bruce is accusing me of making him "a mommy's baby" because he loves to cuddle in my lap and be held like a baby! We get the greatest compliments from everyone who sees him. We couldn't be more pleased. He has also learned to whine or bark really loud when he has to go potty and is in his crate which just pleases me. He and Hershey (our 95# lab) have bonded. Kolby loves to bite Hershey's tail and play tug of war with it. Poor Hershey...he is so mellow he usually just lays down and looks at me like "why me mom?" But Kolby has learned his boundries with the biting as well. Hope all is well on your end. Oh, I guess congratulations are in order for the next litter! You sure didn't get much time off. Bruce already informed me that I can't adopt a puppy from each litter! hmmmm, wouldn't Kolby love to have a "cousin" to grow up with?! Will have to work on that one!
Tell Eve and Chance that Kolby is doing just great and they should be very proud of their son. We love him so much. He is such a loveable joy.
Take care, hope you aren't getting too much of that white stuff this year! I know it's been awfully cold on the east coast.....

Love to all,

Hello Nancy and Levin,
We added one of Katie's pups to our family in May of 2002. Daisy has been a wonderful addition to our family. We're sorry that we haven't written you before now, time does fly. We are very delighted with Daisy, she is incredibly smart and her retrieval instinct is so strong...we never had to teach her how to retrieve!! We don't use her as a hunting dog, but we would recommend one of your puppies to anyone - in fact, we already have and they have purchased one. Everyone compliments Daisy on how beautiful her coat is and her wonderful disposition. She is added tremendous joy to our lives and we couldn't think of not having her as part of our family.
The reason we are contacting you is that we see Katie is having another litter in April. We are interested in finding out if this is Katie's last litter or if you are planning on breeding her again. Daisy is a puppy of Katie and Cody, and we would like another puppy from Katie and Cody if possible. However, if you are planning on breeding Katie again, either stud will be fine. We would like to be first for a female puppy. Please let us know if Katie will have another litter and what the time frame might be.
I will try to find a picture of Daisy to send to you. If you would like to use any of this e-mail please feel free. Thank you for your time and we look forward to hearing from you.

Your website is the greatest! Every time I visit it, it always reminds me how fortunate I am to have one of your pups!
Orla, out of the Maggie and Chance June 2004 litter is a wonderful dog. She has yet to meet a human or another dog that she doesn't like. She wants everyone to be her best friend. Orla, at 7 months old, weighs about 55lbs. She loves to play with all the neighbor's dogs and also enjoys doggie day care once a week. Her energy level is boundless, she comes home from daycare completely wore out.
She loves the snow. I can't wait til spring to get her into the water! She makes us very proud owners, since so many people comment on how good looking she is.

Hello,
I was wondering if you could help me. My name is Darryl, and I am the proud owner of a puppy out of one of your past litters. She would have been out of a breeding between Silverbrook?s Return to Sender ?Elvis? and BPD Code Three Kamikazzi, SH ?Kassi?. This litter would have been aprox. three years ago. I have been looking for her registration papers through the American Kennel Club, and since we have moved I have not been able to find them. I have been to the AKC website, but do not see anywhere I can search for the registration information. Is there a litter number or additional information that you could provide that can assist me in acquiring this information? Just to let you know Abby is an awesome dog. I had her professionally trained at Round Lake Kennels in Round Lake Minnesota. She is a loved family member, and a great companion in the hunting field.
Buying Abby from your kennel was one of the best decisions I have made as a pet owner.
Thank you for your time, and any help that you may be able to offer.

God Bless,
Darryl

Levin and Nancy,
We just thought we'd send a picture of our almost 6 month old puppy Harley.
See photo of Harley
I'm sure you get so confused with all your puppies, but Harley was from Chance and, I think, Maggie. He is doing wonderful and we love him a lot. He is such a great dog and we get so many compliments on him. He ihas finished 2 dog school classes and has learned so many tricks. He likes to hike and be outdoors. He goes to "Doggie Daycare" during the day so he has lots of attention.
In the future, we would like another dog. We are planning for a baby, so maybe after that. We definitely will go through your company again.

Thanks a lot. Happy Holidays!

Date: Wed, 25 Aug 2004

Dear Levin and Nancy: We wanted to touch base with you and send you some recent pictures of Murphy at his vacation at the beach in Delaware. He loves the water and we could not keep him out of it...not to mention our pond at home or the neighbor's pool or any mud puddle that happens to be nearby! Murphy's parents were Ice and Ticket. As you recall, he was the only one in the litter and actually was returned to you from someone who wanted to breed him. Well, no fear there as his testicles did drop. He is now 8 months old, 65 pounds and still growing, and the alpha dog of the neighborhood. He is very tall, lean and strong. He has an absolutely beautiful face with a gorgeous golden coat with white markings on his shoulders. We can't go anywhere without people commenting on how good looking and good natured he is. He is still a bundle of energy at 8 months and so much fun. He has a ferocious bark when people come to the door but he ends up licking them all over with his incredibly long tongue! He loves to play with the neighborhood dogs and kids and is very gentle with both. Murphy is a fast learner and very smart-he was house trained in a few days after bringing him home. He loves to play catch with the Frisbee, but we have to spell the word along with 'swim' and 'walk' or he can't get to the door fast enough to get out and go. He loves to chase deer, butterflies and basically anything that moves. He is an excellent retriever though we are still working on him releasing what he has brought back to us! He follows Greg every where and sleeps in his home office on the floor during the day...but runs to the bottom of the steps if he hears me coming to greet me. We are so happy with Murphy; he has brought so much fun and joy to our home.

Subject: Chance (junior)

Sorry to take so long - it's been a busy 2 1/2 weeks. Chance weighs 23.5 lbs. as of last weekend (10 weeks). He has learned a lot! After the first 2 nights, he has slept through the night without getting us up or needing to go out. We have 2 kennels - our big old general cage in the kitchen and a canvas and mesh travel crate in our bedroom where he sleeps at night. In a few days, when we took him down the 12 steps to the back yard and said 'go pee' - he did, always. He has learned to let us know when he need to go out for a poop and has never done one in the house. He quickly learned to go up the steps, but was very scared to go down - they are fairly steep and open. Gradually we taught him how to go down and he's an old pro at it now. Last weekend we taught him how to use the doggie door altho it's blocked off if we can't keep an eye on him (unless he's kenneled). He has learned to sit without being told before we put his food or water down. I love the way he walks along side looking up at us, and hope I can reenforce his natural heeling before he gets to the independent "teen" stage. He did well at the Vet's last week and had his second set of shots which didn't faze him a bit. He's rather shy with new people (good, I think) but warms up pretty quickly. He's rather scared of other dogs and we'll work on that after he has his next set of shots. We've decided his AKC name will be Peck's Chance of Paradise. You should be very proud of your puppies if they are all like this!

I should have some pictures in about a week.

Dear Nancy and Levin,
I wanted to send you a picture and an update on Chase (August 2003 Patty / Rocky litter). In this picture, he is 10 months old and 75 lbs. He is very affectionate and intelligent, with a strong desire to retrieve. He has completed basic obedience training and his formal hunting training will begin this month. Although we have not had an opportunity to hunt with him yet, we anticipate a great upcoming season based on his current progress. We constantly receive compliments on his good looks, temperament and obedience. We could not be happier with our new family member!

Thank you,

Dear Levin and Nancy,
I am writing this letter to you to give you an update on Tanner - see a picture of Tanner. We got Tanner from Katie and Cody's litter last March, 2003. He is doing extremely well and has become such an important part of our family. He is very mild mannered and just loves to play with his friends in the neighborhood. We often have "play dates" to allow the dogs to swim and socialize. His love for the water is evident and his affection for his owners is immeasurable. We couldn't have picked a better dog and continue to receive numerous compliments. Thank you so much.

Sincerely,
Patrick and Jennifer

Levin, I thought you might want to see one of your pups. Midas attained his "Junior Hunter" title May 15, 2003. He is from Jet and Rascal born May 23, 2003. A great dog and hunter. His trainer is Graham Sharp of Sharp Retrievers, Erie, Kansas and Vienna, Georgia. His breeding really shows. I hope the rest of the litter is as successful and brings the same companionship and enjoyment to their owners as Midas does to us.

Subject: Avery update

Dear Nancy & Levin,
Just wanted to give you an update on our little Avery. She is doing great. She is such a sweatheart. She's very affectionate and loves to be held. She is eating well and getting bigger every day. She had her first visit to the vet last week and vet says she looks great. She's getting plenty of excercise and has a great temperment. We enjoy spoiling her.
I just wanted to take a minute to give you an update and tell you how impressed we were with your operation. The drive down was well worth it and I would recommend your kennel to anyone who is serious about owning a great lab. We'll send pics soon as she continues to grow. Take care.

Dan & Aggie

My family bought a yellow female lab from Paradise Kennels in late 1999.
We named her Isabelle and she has been a wonderful dog. She is now four years old and we are preparing to buy another dog sometime in the spring. I know from her registration that the sire was Silverbrook Return to Sender (Elvis) and I found a picture of him online. The dam was Paradise Alley's Best of Bear Cub. I was unable to locate a picture of her online. If you have one available would you mind sending it to me. We want to see her look so we can pick another dog just as beautiful as Isabelle. I attached a photo of Isabelle. Her natural intelligence amazes us everyday!
We can't thank you enough for such a great dog!

Just wanted to drop you a line to let you know how our black lab puppy is doing. "Coal" is 58.5 pounds now and doing very well at almost 7 months old now I know I'm kinda rushing him along a little bit but hes already a dynamite retriever, great in the water and loves getting out on the marsh...I sent you a few pics.. HE's very goodlooking also! (click on photo to see a large picture) I'm not getting too stern in his training just letting him do what comes natural (retrieve ducks!). But I would definitely be interested in running him in some hunt tests. Please let me know when the best time it would be for him to start and maybe somebody good I could send him to so we can get into this...I'll appreciate any help you can give me...

Thanks again

He is a companion dog & a very good one at that. He did complete an obedience class in which the instructor was so impressed with him that she tried talking me into agility training. He is so easy & eager to learn. He was weighed last week at the vet when he got his yearly shots & weighed 86 pounds but he is not fat by no means. The vet even said that he sees a lot of dogs but "Cody is one beautiful dog". He lives with a tennis ball in his mouth, he can never get enough of "fetch" or "find it". He loves people & is extremely friendly.

Hi,
I can't believe I haven't written till now to tell you how wonderful our girl Kahlua is! She was born Sept 10 2001. She'll be 2 this September! She's the most loving dog we could have ever asked for! She goes outside without a leash and listens very well to commands. She's just a house pet but the best house pet anyone could ever ask for. She's between 60-65 pounds and wants desperately to be a lap dog. She gives the best hugs and lays were her head on your shoulder. We have a 10 month old daughter now to go with our 12 year old son and she is wonderful with both! She's quite the licker also! That's about all she does when people walk in the door other than the hug and lean. I know anyone that gets a puppy from Cody and Katie with be the happiest pet owners just like we are!

Thanks so much!

Levin and Nancy,

This past year we bought a puppy out of Katie and Cody. I am thrilled to tell you he is doing great. Coffee will be 10 months old this week. He weighs about 80 pounds. I would love to know how big his larger litter mates grew up to be. He is such a great dog! You guys were right, he is very easy to train. He is one of the smartest dogs I have ever been around. This is my first lab, and I have done all the training myself. Coffee has made over 40 retrieves in the field this year. He was land and water retrieving snow geese at 6 months old! I would definitely recommend any other pups from Cody and Katie to first time trainers as well. He is laid back in the house, but has a drive in the field that won't quit. I love just watching him in the blind. He usually marks the ducks before I do. He is definitely become one of my best buds. Why not.....he loves to do everything I do.

Thanks,
K.C. and Kristy

Hi, how are you both doing? Hope you are well and enjoying the cooler weather. I'm sorry I haven't written sooner, but as you can imagine Jackson keeps me pretty busy. I'm happy to report he is doing great and and we just love him. He is really smart and learns quickly. He and I have been attending obedience classes every Saturday. They are group classes and he loves it. He gets along with all the other dogs, all the other owners and all the kids just love him. He has the most wonderful, sweet disposition. He has to be the most friendly dog I have ever seen. Everywhere I take him people have to stop and pet him and tell me how beautiful he is. And, if I do say so, he is beautiful. I have attached a few of most recent pictures of him. He is happy, healthy and getting bigger every day. Thank you so much for a wonderful friend and companion.

Subject: The One Week Anniversary
Dear Levin & Nancy,

All is well! We call our puppy "Gus." We have not yet sent in his registration, so we do not have his official name in stone yet, but it will lend itself to "Gus." We'll let you know once we send in the forms, and hopefully the name will be accepted.
Gus is doing great. He is loved by one and all - he has received a few gifts from friends who were excited for us to get him, knowing how much Mickey meant to us. He has been told by many that he has some large paws to fill, but even this early on, Gus is holding his own, and we couldn't be happier.
We visited our vet on Thursday, and Gus weighed in at 12.8 lbs. He is eating and drinking well, and making very good-looking poops. The house training is going pretty well - an accident here and there, but nothing out of the ordinary. Can't complain. Gus has taken to his crate and stays as long as 6 - 6 1/2 hours overnight at this point. The first few times he whined a little, but not for very long, and he settled down all by himself. Now he is fine in the crate if I have to leave the house, and sometimes goes in on his own when tired.
Over the holiday weekend Gus came up to our lake house on Candlewood Lake in New Fairfield, CT. He had a great time playing on the beach, and stuck his paws in the lake. He also went on a hayride and pumpkin picking. He was admired wherever we went, and I mentioned Paradise Alley to a gentleman in Paterson, NY and a friend here in Manhasset.
Gus is very smart, and we can already see that he is eager to please and responds well to training. He knows his name, comes when called more than one would expect at this age, and understands "No" and "Good Boy" pretty well. He seems to enjoy retrieving all ready. My husband and I think that harder than training Gus, will be training our children, who all came into this world to a fully trained dog. However, the kids adore Gus, and are eager to help and learn.
We will keep you up to date on our progress. Hope you enjoy the photos, hope that all is well with you. Please feel free to impart any advice, as you are the experts!

Take care,
Terry

I bought a puppy from Patty and Rocky's litter, picked her up march 2001. She was a little soft kind of a dog but very aggressive to her training. She was a dog that learned fast and the more she learned the more confident she became. I laid the ground work for her training until Sept. She loves to swim and birds are her obsession! She went to a trainer and owner of a game preserve in upstate Pa. I got her back in December 2001. She knows whistle and hand commands. She is steady to shot and can outwit any pheasant or quail. She has retrieved during hunting season 11 ducks 4 geese and 20 pheasant and 12 chukar and 21 quail. During training she has retrieved probably over 50 pigeons. She is so bonded to me my wife is jealous. She never gets distracted when training even when my year old try to intercept her while retrieving. At public hunting places she ignores other dogs. Now that she is over a year old she is very confident and has actually become very playful .Before she had a very serious type of personality. IM very pleased with her she is very fast and a good swimmer and a great pet . Most of all she is very healthy to!I would recommend your kennel for a serious but loving hunting dog. She is such a very good "lady" in other peoples homes that she always gets invited in. She loves her dog bed and her kennel . I only feel sorry for her because hunting season isn't longer! Thanks for selling me a great dog.

Hello,

I thought I should check in on how Abby is doing. She as you can see is beautiful. I was a little concerned at first as she was almost too well mannered. I feared that she wouldn't be aggressive enough when it came to retrieving. But to my amazement, once you throw a bumper, she goes crazy!
The kids love her, and she does really well with them. House training when very quick, and she loves being around others and playing.
I am taking her to the trainers next month. I know that she will excel. I will fill you in as she makes progress.

Dear Nancy and Levin,
We just wanted to share some pictures of our pup with you. She is Rocky and Magoo's Little Miss Cosmo born in October. What a fantastic dog she is. At 3 months old ....all on her own ..she started to go to the end of our driveway and bring the paper up the path.. through the door and into the family room.
She took to her crate right away and loved it. She has been house broken since she was 11 weeks old. She now has the run of the kitchen and foyer while we are at work. She is obedient, kind, loving and smart. She actually won a contest at puppy school for the dog who could "sit and stay" the longest until called. We have not had nothing but joy and pleasure from her. What a wonderful addition to our family!
Thank you for taking the time to breed such exceptional dogs. We may be back for another one soon.
Take care.

Hello Levin and Nancy,

As you know Lizzy?s Lucky Reload just turned one year old and his first hunting season is winding to a close. He is in excellent health and has grown up to be a georgeous 80lb. dog with a great disposition and lots of personality. During his rookie year Reload made over 100 successful retrieves in the field and water, mostly geese and a few ducks. I can remember only losing 2 crippled birds that were shot and not recovered. He has done an amazing job!

I am still actively training him...but most of his training at this point is "on the job" ...and the experience is all that is needed to polish him off as an excellent hunting dog.

Thanks,

Stephan

Hello and Happy New Year !!

I purchased a black lab out of rocky and peppermint patty 03/01. Her name is Ebony and she is very happy living with us in Sarajevo. I wantted to give you an update on her but first I would like to tell you how happy she has made our family. Ebony will be 1 year old this month and weighs 65 lbs.
She has just currently finished training with one of the top trainers in Bosnia and he says that she is the smartest labrador that he has ever seen he recommends that we enter her in the next dog show. Ebony has a wonderful temperment and is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for giving us the chance to own this wonderful dog that truly has enriched our lives as well as others. I have recommened Paradise Kennels/ peachesandpups.com to several people that will be returning back to the united states this year. I believe that Ebony as well as the other dogs that come out of your kennel are exceptional dogs beaucse of your knowledge , expertise and your warmth. My husband and I are now discussing purchasing another lab (a chocolate) when we return to the U.S. and if we decide to do so we would not look at any other breeder or kennel. Our choice would definately be Paradise Kennel. Thank you for your assistance prior, during and after the purchase of our pup. If we do enter Ebony in the next dog show I will definately inform you and I will try to send a picture. Once again, Thank you

Sincerely,

Levin,

Thanks for taking me over to that beautiful training facility this weekend. I hope you guys enjoyed seeing Lizzy's Lucky Reload again and I look forward to doing it again sometime.
I think Reload is part Otter....he is a natural swimmer. He took to the water faster and with more confidence than any dog I have ever seen. At 12 weeks he was making his very first water retrieves and now at 16 weeks he is swimming 30-40 yards for the bumper. His obedience skills are excellent and he can "sit", "stay" and "come" by voice and whistle. So far so good... I'll keep you posted.

Thanks

Rocky's/Patty's yellow male. Boy, at first it was like having a baby all over again - (e.g. whining in his crate at 4 am). But, now he only begins whining at 6 AM - quite an improvement! He is so smart I almost feel badly that he will be a pet and not a "contestant". We all love him, though, and I guess that's the best thing a dog can have! When I walk Tanner, EVERYONE stops (even those in cars....even the MAILMAN made a huge fuss -- I find this very funny, since canines & mailpersons usually do not mix - well - this mailman held Tanner & talked to him like a baby for 10 minutes!!) and wants to pet and/or hold our very handsome pup! Gotta go organize a 12-year-old birthday party! We got a great pup from you! Thank you - Tanner is proving easy to train. He's grown significantly in the two weeks we've had him!

Dear Levin and Nancy,
We just wanted to give you an update on Farley. Ever since we'd brought him home last Friday, we've known that he would be a character! The little guy slept almost the whole ride home and when we brought him in the house, it took him all of two minutes to become VERY comfortable! He was romping and playing in no time! He has been very playful, but he is also very sweet and affectionate. Everyone who sees him compliments his good looks and great personality. His crate training is going well too. He almost always sleeps throughout the entire night, which we're very happy about!

Last night, Farley went to the vet and he weights 11.2 pounds. It is unbelievable to see how quickly he's growing! We have attached a picture of Farley. It was taken the day after we brought him home, so it isn't the most current. We'll be sure to send you updates!

Take care,
Jim and Jill Emerson

HI NANCY AND LEVIN,

JUST LETTING YOU KNOW HOW OUR PUPPY OUT OF ELVIS AND GABBY IS DOING. SHE WEIGHS 39 LB. AND GROWING. WE HAVE NEVER OWNED A SMARTER PUPPY. WE NAMED HER SAMANTHA AT 8 WEEKS OLD SHE DID HER FIRST SWIMMING LESSON AND RETRIEVED A DUCK WING. EVEN THOUGH THE WATER WAS FREEZING SHE WENT IN ON HER OWN WITH OUT ANY COACHING.

AT 9 WEEKS SHE WAS RETRIEVING BUFFLE HEADS WE GOTTEN FROM A HUNTING THAT DAY AT 10 WEEKS OLD SHE RETRIEVED A BLACK DUCK FROM ANOTHER HUNTING TRIP. OF COURSE SAM HASN'T BEEN HUNTING YET . THIS IS ONE BIRDY PUPPY THAT KNOWS HOW TO USE HER NOISE AT 10 WEEKS.

AT 3 MONTHS SHE KNEW ALL HER OBEDIENCE TRAINING. INCLUDING WHISTLE ," SIT AND COME." AT 4 MONTHS SHE IS DOING DOUBLES AT RETRIEVING 15 TO 20 YARDS ON LAND AND WATER. TODAY SUNDAY FEB. 27TH SHE WAS DOING SINGLES AT 70 YARDS IN CORN STUBBLE FIELD. I KNOW I HAVE ONE SMART LITTLE PUPPY HERE. AND SHE ALSO GETS ALONG PRETTY GOOD WITH THE CATS. I WORK WITH HER BEFORE I GO TO WORK IN THE MORNING AND THE AFTERNOON WHEN I GET HOME EVERYDAY. I'VE BOUGHT 4 BOOKS AND TWO VIDEOS ON HOW TO TRAIN RETRIEVERS.

I REALLY NEED TO KNOW HOW TO GET IN TOUCH WITH SOME OF THE RETRIEVER CLUBS SO I CAN KEEP SAM ON THE RIGHT TRACK AND HOPEFULLY SHE WILL BE HUNT TEST QUALITY OR ONE GOOD HUNTING DOG. I WILL KEEP YOU INFORMED ON SAMANTHA.

THANKS,
B & D

Dear VanSant's:

Bob and I would like to tell you how much we have enjoyed our Barksdale's Abby so named for her mother Gabby. We have had her since 9/4/98 and loved every minute of her.
She is a loving and lovable pet with good manners and is easily trained. She really wants to please. She has leveled off at 78lbs. and remains very light in color.
We appreciate your care in raising these pups and the quality. It is so easy to get a less than satisfactory breed these days, and we would highly recommend your kennels.

Sincerely,
Bob and Joan Barksdale

Dear Levin: Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know how our black lab is doing. You may remember we picked her up the last weekend in January. We have her crate trained and have sucessfuly completeted house breaking. She is a VERY FAST SWIMMER!!!. On her first trip to the lake, she got her feet wet and was very excited when our 12 year old Chesapeake swam out to retrieve a dummy. On the second retireve, she launched herself into the water directly in the wake of the Chesapeake! She began retirieving immediately. She is very eager to go on her "work" sessions and is very smart. She has a very sweet disposition which smoothed her transition into the house with our 11 year old Golden Retriever and 12 year old Chesapeake. She is getting very tall and losing her baby teeth. On her visit to the vet last weekend, she weighed 40 pounds!

We will keep you posted on her progress!

Sincerely,

Mary Smith
