Subj: Greetings from Brooklyn!
Hi Nancy & Levin,
Vanessa and I wanted to give you an update on our little girl, Brooklyn (Floyd/Andi pup). She's almost 4 months old now and doing great. She's quite the energetic little rascal (you'll notice the Christmas lights are out on the bottom half of our tree), but she's incredibly sweet and affectionate. Everyone that meets her falls in love, as we did from the moment we held her. Here's wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and happy holiday season!

Hello Nancy and Levin,
We haven't been in touch for a while, but we certainly have not
forgotten you. "Skippy K" (see picture) is still enjoying the good life and sharing her
love and joy with everyone. She is over 3 1/2 years old and is very
healthy and energetic. Skippy enjoys being around people and travels with
us everywhere we go. We hope you and all your family, canine and otherwise,
have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Your friends,

Subject: Bailey and Creena update
Dear Levin and Nancy:
Happy Holidays! Just wanted to drop you a note to let you know how Bailey and Creena (both from Floyd/Sugar litters) are doing. As you can see in the attached photo’s they get along great and are inseparable. And their “Mom” likes to dress them up around the holidays. And, they actually seem to enjoy it, at least for awhile.
Creena recently completed her 2nd level of obedience training and the Trainers were so impressed with her they suggested we compete with her in agility trials. But, we just enjoy having her as a family pet.
They are both such wonderful dogs and have great dispositions. Everyone keeps commenting about their great personalities. Whenever we walk them around the neighborhood a few of the kids rum over and start yelling “here come the Marley dogs”. They may look like Marley, but certainly don’t act like him. J We always stop for some time so they can run around with the kids. We always get asked where we got such wonderful, obedient dogs.
People think we are kidding when they hear bells ringing and we tell them it’s the girls letting us know they have to go the bathroom. Sometimes we have to let them see it for themselves. Both Bailey and Creena caught onto the idea after we would ring it prior to taking them out to do their business.
Creena was introduced to the lake and beach this summer, needless to say it was a great way to release some of that energy. It’s always fun to watch her and Bailey race to retrieve a ball or training dummy in the water.
We’ve gotten to the point in leaving them uncrated for a few hours while we run errands and have never had an issue. Both Bailey and Creena get along great with our two cats. It’s gotten to the point they started laying together.
Getting a second lab from you was a great idea, both Bailey and Creena enjoy hanging our together and as you noted in some of your descriptions, never met a stranger.

Enjoy the Christmas holidays.

Subj: Skeeter
Hi Nancy & Levin,
Just wanted to give you a little update on Skeeter (Hunter & Missy’s litter). We had about an hour and twenty minute ride home Saturday when we picked Skeeter up.
He was a little nervous at first but calmed down and cuddled up to me all the way home. Skeeter settled in quite fast, he has found his favorite resting spot for his little short naps as you can see in the picture. I can’t believe he is already starting to understand the sit command. Skeeter has had very few accidents in the house and is actually starting to go to the door when he wants to go out. He can go up steps now and goes to the door to go back in. Skeeter had his first visit to the vets yesterday and he weighs 8.75 lbs and his physical had all perfect results. Although Skeeter has not met all 11 grandbabies, the ones he has met he has loved and they love him. He will never be bored when they are around. He is loving all the attention he is getting. It is raining lightly outside today and it doesn’t seem to bother him, if anything he seems to have more fun running around playing in the wet leaves. Skeeter plays hard and sleeps hard (except at night, he seems to get this burst of energy around 2:30 in the morning). Thank you so much for such a wonderful & smart pup.

Subj: Happy Birthday to Eve!
Hi Nancy and Lev-
Today is Eve's 10th Birthday! Can you believe it? This is a picture of her a few months ago enjoying a beautiful day on Lake Zurich.
The next "passport stamp" for her will be a Christmas trip to Spain! We are doing a two week driving tour of Spain just before Christmas, so she will enjoy some great sightseeing again soon! Plenty more pictures to follow :)!
We hope all is well with you. It looks like you are very busy! Just last week we checked on your upcoming litters. We are hoping to add a pup next summer or fall when we come back to the US. So we check in often to see which "couples" have pups we think are the cutest! We are leaning toward one of Andi's yellow labs, but we have to wait until we are back home in Princeton and will have to see who you are breeding!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

He is getting the basic commands down very fast and we’ve started retriever training with him and he’s doing great for being only 10 weeks old. Just wanted to say thank you again and we love the little guy, although the way he is growing he wont be little too long!

Subject: Update on Wrigley and Bogey
Hi Nancy and Levin,
We want to update you on our wonderful dogs from Peaches and Pups.

Wrigley (yellow, Xena/Floyd) is three years old and was born on
October 2, 2008. She is such a sweetheart and so easy-going. If she
had her way, she would play ball 24/7 and never admit to being tired,
like her owners!

Bogey (black, Tess/Floyd) is the exact opposite. He would rather
cuddle and rest. He is now almost 2.5 years old and was born on May
15, 2009. He loves to tease his big sister and steal her ball.
They love to swim and play with their friends in the neighborhood.
They are inseparable and hold special places in our family.

Subject: Update on Gauge
Hi Nancy, just a little update on our Gauge, a Floyd/Tess pup. He just turned 5 months old, and is doing great. We recently returned from a 10 day road trip with him. He had a ball, was a great traveler, and adapted well to every situation he was in. Attached are a few pictures taken of him in late September.
We still have him on the Beaverdam Food, which he loves. Shedding is almost non-existent. He was at the vet today for his rabies shot, and the doctor commented on how nice his coat is and asked what we are feeding him. We have been wondering if the lack of shedding was due to the food. We hope it continues!!
Gauge has completed puppy kindergarten and is now doing a basic obedience class. He is very smart. He is bringing us so much happiness, we are so glad to have him.
Best regards,
Russell and Mary and of course, Gauge

Just wanted to give you a little update on Andi. She is doing wonderful! She is energetic, intelligent, and an absolutley beautiful dog. She rides in the car just about everyday to go see my parents dog Abby who is 2 years old (sugar/floyd litter). Wherever Abby goes, Andi goes. I am convinced that Andi is all about comfort. She loves laying on the couch, her big fluffy dog bed, or anything with a cushion. We have been working with her on her retrieving with hopes that maybe next year she will get to go hunting with my dad and Abby. So far she is doing very well with the retrieving. We could not ask for a better dog!! Thank you so much for such a great dog!!

Nancy and Levin:
We wanted to let you know how we are doing with our pup from the Skye X Floyd – January 2011 litter.
Cricket has brains and beauty. We wanted a family pet for an energetic house with three boys, and she fits in perfectly. She is very friendly to people and other dogs, loves to play fetch, and is well behaved in the house and car. She also makes a nice jogging partner for me. From the first night at our house, she was quiet all night and by 12 weeks old she was sleeping all night without even having to go outside. Housebreaking was easy.
She loves water and will play in a sprinkler for as long as we will leave it on. She learned the boundaries of her invisible fence almost immediately and is content to stay in the yard – even when kids and other dogs run by. She just finished an obedience class and performed beautifully.
We took your recommendations to read the Monks of New Skeet book about training a puppy and to feed Beaver Dam dog food and would highly recommend both to other new dog owners.

We’re enjoying our new family member.

Subject: update on Boston
Hello Levin and Nancy,
I've been meaning to send you an update on Boston...our pup from your January Andi/Floyd liter. Of course we all loved that sweet little puppy stage. He snuggled right in with the kids for the car ride home that night in March when we picked him up.
We noticed immediately how smart he is! He was house trained within a matter of days and he learned "sit" very fast. He's funny about some things...he does NOT like to go out in the rain, especially on the grass. He is very vocal and he is SUPER cuddly. He thinks he is a lap dog.
He has grown to 48 lbs, just this morning. He's tall and handsome with the softest fur. He loves to sleep with any of us.
We spend a lot of time at the beach in the summer. Took him a few tries to start to like the water/waves, but now he seems to have the hang of it. He's a fetcher and loves to run around with other pups.
We may have some friends to send your way...will keep you posted.
I'm attaching a few pics.

Hi Nancy. I thought you might like to see a picture of Penny and her brother Zero.
Penny is doing really well! She was really easy to house train, which is always great. She’ll start puppy school in two weeks, although I think she already knows everything that will be covered in class because Zero has already been through it. It will be good for the socialization anyway. Penny and Zero are getting along great. Although it’s definitely a handful at times, I’m glad we got them around the same time so they can grow up together. I hope all is well with you!

Hi Nancy,
I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say that Shelby is doing well. She was on a camping trip to Gettysburg in an RV at nine weeks old and did great. She was the attraction when we took her into town at Gettysburg; we must have had 50 people stopping us so they could visit and pet her. She went to the fireworks on the Fourth of July and watched the fireworks somewhat after she was finished playing with the kids. Right now she is in puppy kindergarten one night a week. Her best friend at puppy kindergarten is a German Sheppard puppy that is three times her size and she is not the least bit intimated. We love her and she has quite the personality.
Attached is a picture we took on July 25th.
We'll keep you posted.

I'm getting bigger...went to the vet last night and I weighed in at 11.6 pounds....boy is that Beaver Dam good! I have some really great toys but I like empty water bottles the best. The make a really cool noise. I'm learning to climb stairs next....I can't wait to see what's upstairs in the house....I'm sure it must be really cool 'cause I'm not allowed up there. Gotta run....it's dinner time! Tell my mom and dad I said hi!

Subj: Sona at 6 months
Nancy and Levin,
Man, time moves quickly, doesn't it? It seems like only yesterday it was January 16 and I was checking my email once every 2 minutes for news about the Floyd/Andi litter from which I'd later select my puppy. 6 months later Sona has grown into a beautiful, well behaved 40 lb. adolescent that I couldn't be happier with. She's enchanted people at the university, vet's office, gym, and out on Main Street when we go out to eat. Even a friend of mine who'd warned me that it was a bad idea to get a young puppy due to the time requirements of raising and training them didn't last 2 minutes with Sona before she was wondering out loud why she'd ever suggested I not get a dog.
We're gearing up for what will most likely be our last year in Delaware (and possibly on the east coast depending on where I end up going to grad school) and I'm excited to get out with Sona and see another part of the country. As always, I'll make sure to tell anyone who compliments her exactly where I went to find such a well bred dog. I'm attaching some photos so you can see how big she's getting.

Hi Nancy and Levin:
We hope you both are doing well. I thought I would drop you a note to let you know how Creena is doing and I think this picture sums it up. she is getting along great with her big sister Bailey.
Creena has been sleeping through the night for over a week, and we haven't had any "potty accidents" in the house for a week as well. Creena has already learned to ring the bells we hung on the front door when she has to go out. She is so smart, she is already sitting and laying down on command. And also running after her ball and retrieving it back to us.
We are so happy we decided to get a second dog from you. Everyone who has met them commented on their great dispositions and how gentle they are with people, each other and other dogs. They both have such wonderful personalities and it's a joy to have them as a part of our family. Now if I can only convince my wife to get a third! :)

Subj: Milo the Great at 6 months
Hi Nancy and Levin –
My husband Pat and I wanted to update you on our Milo, (born in March 2011/Floyd and Andi).
He is a relentless tennis ball chaser! We use our racquets because you can really hit the ball far, and he loves to run. He prefers squeaky tennis balls – and once in the air, he sprints after the ball and happily trots back with it and drops it at our feet and barks until we launch the next one. He will continue to do this until we run out of gas – he seems to have an endless supply.
We discovered he really likes our sprinklers when were we working on a couple of the sprinkler heads in our back yard one day. He was running from sprinkler to sprinkler getting himself a really good ‘power wash’ . Although this was very entertaining for us, it was starting to take a toll on the grass so we got him a little kiddie pool. As you can see by the attached picture, he seems to like it. He especially likes it when you hit the tennis ball into the pool.
At the end of a long day, he still looks forward to coming into the bathroom and getting his teeth brushed. What a great dog!

Subj: Holly Update - A Blast from the Past
Hi Nancy and Levin,
I know you like hearing from your former puppies and so I thought I'd give you an update on one that's grown up happy and healthy. Holly was born back in October of 2001 out of Rocky and Magoo's litter. I picked her up on my way back to college a short time later and raised her there for the next three years. After graduating I accepted a job in NYC and commuted for awhile from my parents' home in CT until I moved into the city. Holly had grown quite fond of the green grass and frequent swims in the Long Island Sound, so as much as it pained me to do so, she stayed behind where she could get constant attention and exercise. I just didn't have the heart to pen her up in a small apartment all day. I'm happy to report that she became my parents' only child after my sisters and I all moved out, and she's been living the good life ever since (I'm only a short train ride away so I visit often). I've attached two pictures, one a puppy picture I sent years ago and the other a more recent one taken around Christmas. As you can see, she's still in great shape and hardly looks like a nine year old. Such a wonderful dog - we all love her very much!

Subj: Keira
Hi Nancy & Levin!
We just had to send an update to you on Keira (from Skye & Floyd's litter of 1-27-11.) We've had her home for 6 weeks now, and we can't believe how she's grown and changed during that time. (You were so good at sending us photos each week of the pups while they were at your house. So I'm attaching quite a few of Keira during the past 6 weeks.) She was just 8.5 lbs. when we brought her home at 7 weeks, but now at 13 weeks, she's 26.5 lbs. (She loves the Beaverdam Food!) She has slept through the night since her first night; has done well with housetraining; LOVES to fetch our newspapers from the driveway each morning (and has done it on her own since her first week here!); sits, comes, and is working on down commands; and keeps us laughing with her daily antics. She loves her toys, but has just as much fun romping in the yard and digging (mud and the sandbox are her favorites!) It's been fun to see her confidence and skills grow daily. For example, her first accomplishment was leaping onto the fireplace hearth, and when she mastered it, she brought toys up to keep her company. Another day she practiced going up and down the many steps in the house, and then she tackled the steps to the outside playhouse. She enjoys her walks, but would prefer to carry her own leash, stopping at every house where she's met someone on a previous walk--sitting and waiting at their driveway, hoping to see a familiar face and get yet another belly rub. She's a good traveler, is quiet in the car, and has been to Maryland and up to Newark, in addition to keeping me company for car rides around town. She's made quite an impression on our Philadelphia family when she won our family bracket for the March Madness basketball games. (Keira "picked" teams with dog, cat, and animal mascots and actually beat the die-hard basketball guys in the family.) In addition, she received a "Flat Stanley" from a kindergarten relative, and Keira taught the kindergarten class all about Delaware (and puppies!) through their daily travels, photos, and information returned to the kids.
Keira has had her crazy moments (as all puppies do!) but we just had to let you know that we love having Keira as a part of our family! Everywhere we go, people stop and admire her. Thank you again for this beautiful puppy! See Keira picture 2.

It's been a couple of years since I last forwarded some pictures of our wonderful yellow labs we purchased from you. Kolby is now 6 (Chance/Eve pup 11/04) and Ebonstar's Chance of a Sunny Paradise aka "Sunny" now 5 (Chance/Eve pup 11/05). As you can see
from the pictures below they are still very active and healthy. They have been wonderful companions and great retrievers. We still get compliments about their coloring, agility, manners and personalities. I saw a picture of Eve on your web page enjoying her retirement
days with her wonderful family in Europe and we think our Sunny is the spitting image of her mother. Kolby has more of Chance's characteristics. Overall they are the best! We couldn't be more proud of them.

Nancy
Thought you might to see "Harper" (Floyd/Andi) and check out how she is doing. As you can see she is not suffering from a lack of love and so far she has been a really mellow pup as far as puppies go. She's adorable, sweet, and seemingly pretty smart. At 14 weeks she is 99% house broken and already responds to come, sit, stay, lie down commands. She's getting bigger quickly but not so much that she still can't squeeze thru the baby gate we set up for her. One more week should solve that problem.
I hope all is well,
Sally & Tom

Subj: Sona at 3 Months
Hi Nancy!
I thought I'd pop in to give you an update. Sona (Floyd/Andi) turned three months old on Sunday and she's been an absolute delight! We've been taking her to puppy classes at the local Petsmart and she's putting her classmates to shame. To date she's the first to sit, first to down, first to walk nicely on a leash, first to master "leave it", and has learned to speak both through verbal commands and a hand signal (you can see all of them in action on our youtube channel. Here's a picture of her from Sunday as well. Thank you again for all the work you do to ensure good breeding. I make sure to send everyone who asks to your website.
Best,
-Jon

Subj: Bailey (Floyd x Sugar) and puppy update
Hi Nancy:
Cindy
and I are getting close to a decision on another puppy. We saw you are
expecting another litter from Sugar and Floyd in May and think it is
time for Bailey to have a playmate. :)
Bailey is such a wonderful dog and a member of the family she goes
everywhere with us. We recently received a dinner invitation addressed
to her for a friends daughters birthday party which said "you can bring
Bob and Cindy", no joke. Seriously Bailey gets along with everyone and
plays with every dog she meets no matter what size. She can roughhouse
with the biggest of dogs and yet is very gentle with the little shitzu
she plays with across the street. All the kids on the street love
playing with her and she is just as gentle with them. Everyone is amazed
with her great disposition.
We are certain any puppy we get from you will have the same wonderful qualities.
Attached are a couple of recent pictures of Bailey. As you can see she
can't stay out of the water and enjoys our weekend hikes. It's proving
good exercise for us as well. We'll be in touch soon.
PS: feel free to post this on your website. We'd be happy to speak to
any prospective clients to attest how happy we are with Bailey.
Regards,
Bob and Cindy

Subj: Milo the Great
Dear Nancy,
We've been meaning to write to you about Milo. It's been 5 weeks since
we brought him home. When I took him to the vet 2 days after we adopted
him, he weighed 10 lbs. As of this past Wednesday, he was just shy of
30 lbs. We can't believe how fast he is growing. He has become my
constant companion and loves to ride next to me in the truck. He is
geting alond well with our Pug, Dewey. Our 2 Siamese cats keep him in
line most of the time. He is doing great with his housebreaking
training, and sleeps through the night in his crate without any
accidents. He is doing well in his puppy training classes, and I tell
him he is the smartest dog in the world (which everyone knows he is).
Although he can be rambunctious, he is full of love and affection; and
for the most part always puts a smile on our faces with his antics. I
really am enjoying him. I am really pleased with him and glad that we
found you.
Thanks,
Pat
Skye/Floyd black male arrived in Texas via Continental Airlines
yesterday, March 24, 2011. This client had one of our pups from 1996,
it is such an honor that she contacted us for another pup after all
these years. Such a blessings!

Subj: Thank You
Hi Nancy and Levin,
It was a pleasure meeting you on Saturday and the last 2 days have been a lot of fun for us.
Shadow (Floyd x Skye 1/27/11) has been adjusting well to his new
family. He slept relatively well on Saturday night, and was very busy
entertaining about 12 children that were at our home yesterday for
Jonathan's 10th birthday. So by the time night came, he welcomed the
quiet and the dark and I actually got to sleep in my bed for a good part
of the night.
He has been improving with his leash training and is starting to learn
"sit" and "come". I know he's still very young, but Skye is clearly a
genius, so I have high hopes.
Thank you for our beautiful new family member. I attached a photo I took
yesterday of Shadow romping in our back yard. Today he gets to play in
some snow!
Sincerely,
Steve

Subj: Update on Mesa (Floyd-Andi 1/16/11)
Hello Nancy,
It's been almost two weeks now since we saw you and Mesa is doing really
well. After four days, he was crying at the door to go outside to the
bathroom and is sitting on command. He and Sedona (Floyd-Xena) are getting along well,
and she hasn't left his side since his arrival. It's a challenge at times
having two dogs, but we're getting into a routine and they're both so good.
We contacted Truman at Beaver Dam and he was very helpful and a pleasure to
speak with. He shipped us a 40 lb bag of food and now both dogs are eating
Beaver Dam. We're seeing a difference already in Sedona's coat and she's
scratching less often. We're so happy with both our dogs and want to thank
you for all your help along the way! I've attached some pics of Mesa and
Sedona who was three in February.

Subj: Sona Comes Home
Hi Nancy and Levin,
It's 8PM as I'm writing this and Sona (Floyd x Andi) is currently laying
under the computer desk asleep on my feet. I'd always heard that was
one of the great perks of having a dog and it's wonderful to see that I
wasn't misled.
Tomorrow it will have been one week since we brought Sona home and I can
not put in words just what a joy she's been since coming into our
lives. In one week she's gone to work with me at the gym twice, been to
Petsmart a few times as well as some other dog friendly department
stores. She's also gone on two very long walks on the University of
Delaware campus with me (she walks very well on the leash. Not a formal
heel, but still, for 8 weeks old it's a nothing short of amazing to walk
with her so easily). Everyone--and I can't stress that enough,
EVERYONE--we've come across has absolutely gushed over what a beautiful,
well behaved, puppy she is. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that
on our first campus walk, there was a crowd of people around us waiting
to pet Sona and she happily accepted every stranger's touch.
House training has been going very well and there haven't been any
accidents in four days. We've been working with the clicker too, and
Sona will sit and down on command. At Petsmart today I showed on of the
trainers the tricks and she was floored that such a young puppy had
picked them up so quickly. I can not tell you how blessed I am to have
found and adopted from your kennel.
I'm enclosing a picture of Sona
in her crate with several toys. No doubt you'll notice the stuffed rat.
That used to be one of Noor's (our cat) toys, but Sona decided she
liked it and Noor was only too happy to share. Again, thank you so much
for all of the wonderful work you put into breeding such wonderful dogs.
I'll be sure to keep you both updated as Sona grows. Please give Andi
and Floyd an extra scratch behind the ears for myself and Chelsea. They
sired us a spectacular puppy.
Best,
-Jon

Subj: Friday morning
Dear Nancy,
Good Morning!!! I just wanted to check in with you quickly while my
little darlin is sleeping. She has been a perfect angel! She's
sleeping in a crate in our bedroom at night and every night has been
adding about 15 minutes to her sleep time. Last night, she slept from
midnight til 7:00 am!!!! She's doing great with housebreaking too,
except for late wed night and early thursday morning when we had monsoon
like conditions here, and she didnt want to go potty outside. Not
that I blame her. Anyway, other than that, she's really getting the
hang of it!
She is full of energy when she is awake! I try to wear her out with walks and playing but it's not easy....LOTS OF ENERGY!!!
By the way, she did PERFECTLY on the car ride home. We left your house
at 12 noon and got here to Florida at 3:30 am. She didnt get car sick
and stayed in her crate the whole way...slept most of the way. ABout
every 2 hours, she whined, we took her out to go potty , and she did.
One time, she was really barking and seemed unhappy until we could find a
place to stop....she had to wait about 5 minutes... and when we finally
stopped, she had a massive poop! So, she knew to hold it! I couldnt
believe it! ANyway, it was a great trip...lots of driving but it
couldnt have gone any better. :O)
Ok, better get going. Oh, I was wondering if you could share an email
address with me? THe couple who adopted Reagan? I"d love to talk to
another family with her sister. Maybe you could ask them to contact me
or ask them if it's ok that you give me their email??? Just a thought.
Thanks for everything Nancy. Oh, we're giving her about 1 1/2 cups of
food a day....the puppy food says 1 cup but that doesnt seem enough.
Any thoughts??
Happy Friday!

Hi,
Wanted to send you some recent pictures of Hope. She is from the Floyd
and Sugar litter 12/27/2009. Two years old and likes to help us shovel
snow. Or is she just playing? Apparently the shovel is just a big stick
to her. Another picture of her practicing patience...what a good dog.
Hope is a very smart and lovable dog. She is our joy.

Subj: Junior Hunt
Hello
Thought you would like to know that Maggie (Floyd x Tina pup 9/24/09)
just received her Junior Hunt Title. She completed the tests with no
problems and we are very proud of her. This is new to us so forgive me
if I'm not correct with some of my lingo. There was only one other dog
who could equal Maggies straight lines and she out swam all of them!
She's been in training with Mike Sommers' Sporting Dogs in Jupiter Fl.
for three months then came home for a month over Christmas so my husband
could hunt with her. She is now working towards her Senior Hunt Title
with Mr.Sommers'. I will keep you informed.
Thank you for providing us with such a wonderful, loving companion that is full fire and eager to please!
Best Regards,
Cindy and Michael

Just a quick note to wish you a belated Happy New Year.
Also wanted to let you know how delightful a dog you sold us.
She is incredibly intelligent and extremely well behaved. Nobody
believes us when we say she is only 10 months old. We haven't had a
chance to get her on any real birds yet but she is ready to go. I am
certain she will perform as well on that task as any we have asked her
to do.
We have had her at nursing homes where she brings joy to all who see
her.
She is absolutely gorgeous!
Bless you and Levin and keep up the good work you do

Ps. We have mentioned you to several folks and hope they have selected some pups as well

Hi Nancy and Levin!
Hope
you all are staying warm this winter! I just wanted to update you on
Bella, my now 2 YEAR OLD little girl from Lady and Lefty's litter in
January of 2009. Time seems like it has FLOWN by. Bella and I now live
in NYC a few blocks from Central Park. Bella LOVES Central Park. She
is an amazing retriever and we play ball each morning for at least an
hour. She is still 55 lbs and the perfect size for me. Bella's still
got that puppy face and every time we walk downtown in Manhattan, people
stop us to tell me how beautiful she is. She has an amazing
temperament. I could never ask for a better dog. She is so sweet and I
am so lucky to have her :) I've attached 2 photos, one of just Bella
and another of her in my suitcase waiting to go home for Christmas.
Thank you so much for such an amazing pup!

Subj: Greetings from Paradise's Pistol Packin Pete
Hi Nancy and Levin,
I
apologize for not getting in touch with you sooner, the weeks and
months just seem to fly by, and I’ve been wanting to send you some
pictures and give you an update on Chase (a Floyd x Tess pup).
The first couple of months were a little crazy, my 2 Shelties would have
nothing to do with him, and Pete was out of town on a contracting job,
so I was his soul source of entertainment and companionship. But little
by little my younger Sheltie, age 5 came around and now they play all
the time. Toby is over sized for the breed, and is close to collie size
20.75 at the withers and weighs about 45 lbs so is a better match for
chase.
Chase went to puppy kindergarten and loved it, especially recess when he
got to play with everyone else, his favorite buddy was a border
terrier, which was very comical because Chase was the biggest puppy and
Petey was the smallest, but they had fun together! Then I started him
in puppy agility which he really loves! We do a lot of ground work, and
all the equipment is low to the ground. I just moved his jumps up to
12 inches; he was stepping over the 8 inch jumps, I’m not rushing the
agility, he’s having fun, and he needs to grow up both physically and
mentally before we buckle down. He also is going to advanced obedience
classes, he’s doing well in that, except he has to hold still a lot in
that class, and that’s really hard for him, but we have finally
conquered STAY!
We keep a very busy schedule, which is right up Chase’s alley, Monday
night we meet group of friends and do about a 4 mile walk in a local
park, sometimes we have as many as 11 dogs with us if everyone shows up.
Tuesday Chase and I go to puppy agility, Wednesday he gets to hang out
with Pete at home while the Shelties and I go to masters agility, and
Thursday we go to a friends house to train, and Chase does some ground
agility work and we play some recall games with him so gets LOTS of
running in (one of his favorite pastimes). Saturday we go to obedience
class, and with this schedule we usually have a quite night once we are
home.
I took him to try lure coursing, he was afraid of the sound the cord was
making so he just stood there and barked, but I think he had fun, he
got to visit with lots of other dogs. We also went to watch a field
trial, we watched the master’s level, it was very impressive! I might
try taking him to the local retriever club next month and try a practice
run with him, he loves to retrieve! We are out in the yard throwing a
ball or Frisbee every day, the only thing I worry about is he likes to
play tug with the toy when he brings it back to me - that could get
pretty messy with a duck - yuck! Any suggestions?
Last week I had Chase’s hips x-rayed, didn’t have them sent off to OFA, I
trust my vet, he feels he would get an excellent on one and good on the
other. He weighed 69lbs, and will be 9 months this week. I keep
looking at Tess’ and Floyd’s pictures, can’t decide who he looks like,
but he is very handsome! I haven’t seen his cousin, Ruby’s son, for a
few months, should see them next month a couple people have said they
look alike, will keep you posted. We also have figured out why you were
calling him Pistol Packin Pete! Fits him perfectly! He’s a cross
between Marley and Odie!
Hope you are both doing well, you are having a pretty rough winter up
there. We are having a very cold winter for Florida, but nothing like
you are having!
Hope you enjoy the pictures! The picture above was taken last week, and the attached picture was taken in September (5months old) with Toby and Ben.

Subj: Cotti/Lefty Update
Nancy,
I
wanted to let you know that I am very proud of my lab Kayla. I
purchased her from you (Cotti/Lefty litter) a year ago. She is my first
dog that I have used for waterfowl hunting. All I can say is that she
is amazing and gets better each day. Kayla has not chewed on a single
item in the house and she was easy to house train. This dog is
extremely smart. She tries to outsmart me all the time but it makes the
waterfowl training fun. Her dark chocolate color has impressed a lot
of people. There are a great number of good things that I can say about
her but I would be typing forever. I attached a few pictures of my
Kayla...Thanks again!!!
